Somehow I missed the note on the bag that this was both a black tea and an herbal infusion, and I was expecting a straight black from the bag. This is definitely not that.
There is a lot happening here and not all of it feels great together. When hot, there’s a bit of a sweet, floral black tea happening. I didn’t drink enough of it hot to get more defined than that; it tasted absolutely awful with my food so I put it aside! Cool, the apple is much more apparent, with a bitter herb and light mint finish. All I get in the aftertaste is the woody rooibos. sigh

From my Sips by box this month!
This one is is an interesting combination, though I will say I don’t feel like the name is representative of the flavors. I don’t taste the dandelion (I assume root?) at all, it’s mostly a super mild black tea with elderflower and strawberry jam flavors. The first time I steeped it, I used my normal ratio of 8 ounces of water per sachet, but it was a bit weak. I noticed the wrapper recommends only 200ml per sachet, so I tried that for the second pot, and it’s a bit better. But it’s still a very light/subtle tea. The black tea adds some body, but not much in the way of flavor other than a vague woodiness.
I do like the combination of elderflower with strawberry, but I can’t help but feel it would make a bit more sense on a white, green, or oolong base. And perhaps a hint of lemon would be nice, too! :)
(P.S. – Am I the only one who didn’t realize that elderflower and elderberry are from the same tree? Now I just feel dumb… ^^’)

Preparation
I taste a bit of lemon, and there’s a pretty low percentage of black tea in here, so it tastes a lot like an herbal. It tastes pretty fresh and complex, though it’s hard to tell what ingredients make it up. The branding is pretty cute – I think Martin would enjoy some of these tea bags for his collection!
I have checked them, and apparently I did before based on my browser history, and you are right. I would enjoy those tea bags in my collection!
It looks like they sell their tea on Amazon, which is convenient! I wish I’d grabbed a few extra bags when I had the chance!
Pleasant, mild honey flavor. Very nice light black tea, combined with various herbal ingredients. It didn’t need milk. It was mostly gentle, herbal-tasting, and pretty good. I appreciate the complex layers of flavor. It was a random tea box find, and now I’m curious to try more flavors from this company!
