This has sort of an EG vibe, but a little fruitier. The floral flavor and black tea go really well together. The tea is really smooth and just hearty enough. I haven’t tried other Theodor teas before, but this is definitely a nice first impression from the TTB! I sort of want another cup of this, but I don’t want to overdo it with the caffeine!

I looooooove this tea!

This was such a delicious smoky coldbrew. It tasted a lot better than a lot of other lapsang teas I’ve tried in the past. I have yet to try it hot. Longer review to come soon.

Mastress Alita’s Monthly Sipdown Challenge: a tea that reminds you of an alcoholic beverage

Lapsangs always remind me of whiskey, so I figured this was a good fit for the prompt.

This tastes smoky (obviously)- like hickory smoke. Definitely not an everyday tea, but it fits a need. A need for smoke.

Sipdown!

It feels like summer has returned these past few days as it has been very warm and humid. It was so bad late this afternoon that Ashman said he just had to turn on the air conditioning for a little while.

Tonight he got peckish so I offered to make a quick bedtime snack of buttered ramen noodles with everything bagel seasoning from The Spice House and this tea.

I noticed that Rare Tea Company recommends steeping their herbals at boiling with the exception of chamomile, which they feel tastes best at a much lower temp, so I steeped it at 160F. As hot as it has been, we didn’t need a super hot cuppa anyway. I don’t think I even timed this, but just pulled the basket when the noodles were ready.

Since I was nearly out, I had added a bit of Harney & Sons plain loose chamomile. This was really strong, super sunshiney and golden in taste and appearance. We enjoyed our little bedtime snack on the patio and enjoyed the finally cooling (63F at midnight) and finally less humid air.

The taste is much the same as my previous note except that I think there were no pink peppercorns in this and I didn’t pick up any of the warming sensation they had lent before.
A very nice tea. And now gone forever because The Odor closed!

We had first Christmas today as my son, his wife, their twins, my daughter and her husband came. This was one of my gifts from daughter Superanna. She gave me Laponic White a few years ago, and I believe Laponic Black but I don’t see any notes from me on it. Hmm.

This one smelled great from the get go. Chamomile and citrus hit me first. And the blend is so pretty! The chamomile sets off rose petals and deep pink peppercorns, and lemongrass adds visual texture.

Best of all, it tastes good! Laponic White and I had an odd relationship. I drank most of it, but it was just so….odd. I couldn’t figure that tea out at all! This one is much easier. Very nice and very easy drinking.

Main flavor is chamomile, then lemongrass and a bit of sweetness, with the occasional zip from the pink peppercorns warming things up but really just zippy and not HOT HOT. It is a very sweet and gentle blend but with color, to the eye and the taste.

Superanna and I finished off a really big pot as our celebrations were drawing to a close. I look forward to more of this one, though I do wonder how much of it I can have with the licorice root in it considering that my blood pressure has gone unruly again of late.

Superanna dislikes both licorice root and lemongrass, but seemed to really enjoy this blend.

Advent tea
A nice mild but warming cup with orange, clove, and pepper spices. A fall spice pallet, without the cinnamon. Easy to drink, not fussy to brew, I’d certainly enjoy more of this tea if I had the chance, boy my list of new to me tea companies keeps growing.

Advent calendar day 3
I thought this tasted a bit citrusy on the first steep and then muted peach on the second steep. I’m enjoying the second steep more than the first. Not something I would gravitate towards for a purchase, but perfect for a cup in an advent!

I cold brewed this one.
I’m missing the mango here as the main note is citrus specifically lemon. It’s also quite floral likely from the rose and perhaps even the mango? I don’t like this particular lemon flavor. I prefer this one hot but didn’t care for it brewed either way. I like lemon and lemon teas just this particular lemon flavor is one that never works for me.

This one I questioned my decision on cold-brewing it. I wasn’t sure it’d work out too well but figured it’d be worth a try. I actually thought that the peach and the cream flavors were a lot more noticeable in the cold brew. A cup of this one hot was always lacking in peach or fruit.

Flavors: Cream, Peach, Vanilla

ashmanra

I will try that. I get the peach but not vanilla.

I’ll be curious to see what you think.

Tastes like a toffee lemon cookie. A bit of cookie sweetness, and a bit lemony. Not the best I’ve had of this flavor profile, but certainly not bad.

So juicy and fruity! Peach at the forefront, with a bit of pear and goji berry.

Resteeped the leaves of this tea from a cup I made for my grandmother. I didn’t want to waste it and it looked like it would resteep well. It definitely did resteep well but I’m not getting peach but that may be because it’s the second steep?
There’s a lot of really nice melon flavor though and it’s very similar to Lupicia’s melon tea flavor.
