Preparation
I decided that a chai would be particularly good for a cool morning such as this morning. The warmth and sweetness that a chai offers is quite desirable on a morning such as this.
Now, I must note, that as much as I do like the occasional chai, I still don’t care for them as much as I do other teas. I guess the best example would be to say that I’d drink Pumpkin flavored beverages only because it is “the season” to have it, so I might as well try it once before it goes away again.
With that said, this tea is okay. I like the minimal spice that this cup brews. It isn’t as strong as the chai that I usually drink, but it IS smoother/lighter than others I’ve had in the past. It reminds me of a watered down Masala chai, with a bit more astringency/bitterness than most. I had to add a bit of cream to take away that astringency, though; otherwise, I would have disliked it altogether. The milk really makes this tea palatable.
This Jasmine tea is quite delicious. The taste of Jasmine is rather strong and a bit on the bitter side. Even though it is not as delicate as other jasmine teas, it does make for a good flavor and overall great aroma. Because of it’s price range, I do recommend this tea as an every day tea.
Preparation
I found this tea in the most obscure of places and was a bit wary but delightfully pleased once I tried it. The aroma of the gunpowder green tea leaves with spearmint was wonderful and the tea itself has a delicate taste to it. It was refreshing to drink.
Flavors: Spearmint
Preparation
Disgusting. I admit I’ve not had many Jasmine Green Teas, but blergh. ALL other teas I’ve tasted have been better than this.
It basically seems like they dumped non-food floral perfume into some tea leaves. Floral scent is very strong, but not in a good way. Yuck yuck yuck. It’s like licking cheap bath soap or something.
For the record, I got this from Marshall’s in Illinois. Probably shouldn’t have taken the chance. No idea where they source their food items.
This is a nice black base with a light chai spice undertone. The spice would need to be kicked up about 1100 notches for me to call this a true chai. I prefer ultra-spicy chais. It’s not bad, just light and boring. LOL! That’s quite an endorsement, isn’t it? :)
Preparation
The cupboard sorting feature is back!!!!!! YAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!! Oh, how I’ve missed you!! This is probably the best feature of the entire site (IMO), and I have sorely missed it these past few months. Thank goodness it’s fixed!
The aroma of this one is a little lighter and weirder than the Earl Grey Black by Boston Tea Company. The flavor is equally weird. Have I ever had an Earl Grey Green? I don’t know. I’m not sure about this combo. The grassiness of the base doesn’t seem to mesh well with the bergamot flavoring. It’s not terrible but it’s not yummy either. I don’t think I’m a fan.
Preparation
I haven’t had Earl Grey in over a year. It’s funny how the aroma of bergamot is immediately transporting. Too bad the flavor here is pretty weak. Although if I’m being honest, I’ve left this stringless teabag exposed to air for about two weeks. Whoops! I’ve been a little busy and thought if I laid it out on the counter I’d remember to drink it. But that strategy didn’t really work.
So although I’m most likely to blame for the poor state of this tea, I still have to rate it rather low. It needs a lot more punch in flavoring to be an Earl that I’d reach for over others. At least the flavoring isn’t harsh and the base isn’t bitter. It’s not bad.
Flavors: Bergamot
Preparation
Bergamot is a taste that’s grown on me over time. I really disliked it several years ago but now I like it. I’ve been avoiding black teas a lot since getting pregnant so EGs were just one of the many neglected teas in my stash. Once I brewed it up and inhaled the aroma, I was like “Oh hello, old friend!” :)
Oh wow, I had no idea that you have been pregnant over the past year. Overly belated congrats! That must have been tough avoiding caffeine for that long.
Thank you! I haven’t avoided it 100% except in the first trimester, but I try to keep my consumption way below the recommended cap. I’m due in 1.5 weeks! Can’t wait to meet this baby! We’re Team Green so we have no idea what we’re having.
“Office is busy.” Umm, what? Since when does Microsoft control when I open Word on my computer? That’s incredibly creepy. So, I’m drafting this note in Notepad before posting it. Ugh. Notepad sucks. This is one looooooooooong horizontal line. Makes proofreading pretty difficult and kind of defeats the purpose of drafting the note before posting it in the first place.
Anyway, this tea is super weak. The aroma smells like a Ceylon, but the flavor is nearly tasteless. Maybe it would be better if it was fresher and brewed longer. Currently, it’s like drinking warm water with a tablespoon of tea in it. So, this is a bust all around. Stupid Microsoft and stupid tea. :(
Preparation
Format: check mark Word Wrap, should solve the notepad problem. The Office one is strange. Open task manager and see if Office shows up. Kill the program there and reopen. If that doesn’t work – shutdown and restart.
For a mint tea, this is pretty weak. I think it’s because this contains “mint flavor.” I don’t know what that means. The green tea base is equally weak in flavor. So, this tea isn’t a winner. But I’ll drink it and then go off to bed like the good little incubator that I am. 3.5-ish weeks left till we have our bundle of joy!
Preparation
This must be the base Boston Tea Company uses in all their green blends. It’s only slightly grassy probably because it’s old. It’s not bad, if a bit boring. It’s also a tad astringent at the end of the sip.
Maybe I can convince my husband to drink up the rest of these stringless teabags. He tolerates low quality bagged teas, especially greens, a lot better than I do. Some may say he even enjoys them. :) For me, this is mediocre at best and thus rated appropriately.
Preparation
Another stringless teabag! I don’t know if it’s because I just read Sil’s note or what, but upon first sniff, the brewed tea aroma smelled like dirty diapers. Ewww! Upon second sniff…floral dirty diapers. Yuck. I am not looking forward to trying this one.
Luckily, the flavor doesn’t quite match the aroma, but it also doesn’t taste like any jasmine green tea I’ve ever had. The rest of this is definitely going down the drain. Blech. I wish I could wash my nose out. I think the aroma burnt my nose hairs. *Grimace.
Preparation
These Boston Tea Company stringless teabags sure have potent aromas! This smells strongly of blueberry. The flavor is not bad for a bagged tea. Blueberry hits my tongue first, with the green base being more apparent at the end of the sip and in the aftertaste. As with the other Boston Tea Company offerings, I find that it’s tastier once it cools a bit. This is pretty enjoyable and a good alternative when my loose leaf stock is unavailable. I like this one!
Flavors: Blueberry
Preparation
This one has a mango candy aroma. It smells very sweet. The flavor is sweet and fruity and recognizably mango. The base is maybe the tiniest bit bitter, but it’s pretty inoffensive for the most part. I think I prefer it as the cup cools. I can see this being good iced as well. It’s not the perfect mango tea in my book, but it’s not bad for a stringless bagged tea.
Flavors: Mango
Preparation
I haven’t mentioned it before, but all these Boston Tea Company teabags come with no strings attached, and I mean that literally. There’s no string to pull the bag out of the cup with once it’s done steeping. Luckily, I have tea tongs that I can use to fish it out with and squeeze the residual liquid out of the bag. But I can see this being a negative point for other people, so I think it’s worth mentioning.
This tea is just okay. The vanilla flavoring is pretty strong and sweet and tastes artificial. It lends an astringent quality to the cup. It’s not terrible. I’ve definitely had worse artificial flavorings. But it’s probably not a tea I would seek out again. I get the feeling it could give me a headache.
Preparation
This tea is sometimes mixed up with another of Boston Tea Company’s teabags. They offer a pomegranate tea with a black base and a pomegranate tea with a green base. This tea page and note is for the pomegranate tea with a green base. For the other offering, visit this page: http://steepster.com/teas/the-boston-tea-company/11739-pomegranate
I know this is a green tea and I shouldn’t have used boiling water. But in my defense, it’s a really old bagged tea and the water was already boiling. I didn’t feel like waiting for it to cool since I’ve only got a minute to enjoy it before I have to run off to prenatal yoga. So yeah…I used boiling water. :P
This is surprisingly good! The green base is light and slightly grassy. The pomegranate flavoring is even lighter but definitely present. It lends a sweet fruity undertone to the cup. The aftertaste is a little drying but nothing unmanageable. I like this one! It’s a pleasant cuppa.
Preparation
I think some people who have reviewed this tea mixed it up with another of Boston Tea Company’s teabags. They offer a pomegranate tea with a black base and a pomegranate tea with a green base. This tea page and note is for the pomegranate tea with a black base. For the other offering, visit this page: http://steepster.com/teas/the-boston-tea-company/15114-pomegranate-green
This is actually okay for a stringless bagged tea. The black base is light but not bitter. The pomegranate flavoring is nice and fruity. I’m enjoying this cup sans additions, which is unusual for me and black bagged teas. I’m surprised that this is so drinkable because I guess I had low expectations. Not bad, not bad at all. :)

Backlog:
A very highly fragrant tea. I could smell the notes of almond and vanilla immediately upon opening the package. A rich black tea base that holds its own with the flavors of almond and vanilla – which are strong!
The flavors are evenly matched, one doesn’t taste stronger than the other. I like the pairing, it almost tastes “cookie-ish”. It’s best served hot, I think, but it tastes alright iced too.

Backlog:
I had my misgivings about the combination of cranberry and lemon together. Sure, I like cranberry teas, and I like lemon teas. But usually when I see a cranberry and citrus fruit tea, it’s usually paired with orange and that’s just fine with me because the orange is sweet and helps soften the tartness of the cranberry. But lemon is a tart fruit. Cranberry is a tart fruit. This just sounds TART.
It’s alright. Not my favorite tea from Boston Tea but it’s alright. I enjoyed it. I believe the black tea base here saves this, because it’s a smooth, robust black tea and the sweet notes of the malt notes help soften the tartier flavors (yes, tartier is a word even though my computer wants to put that wavy red line under it to indicate that I misspelled something. It’s a word because I just decided it was.) And the boldness of the black tea helps take some of the taste buds’ attention off of the fact that we’re dealing with two tart fruits in this blend.

A pleasant tea. I’d drink it again if it was offered to me, but it’s probably not one that I’d seek out and purchase for myself.
I think I used a little too much tea and brewed this at the wrong temperature. It is sweet and a little bitter. It i somewhat astringent. It is a strong Ceylon tea. I brewed this western style for 3 min with boiling water in an 18 oz teapot. I used 3 tsp leaf.
It came out far too strong. I have noticed that some teas demand to be steeped with less tea. I will try this one again with 200 degree water and 2 tsp of leaf for an 18 oz cup and see what I get.
It has the strong flavor of strawberries.
Flavors: Strawberry

Thank you Sil for the sample of this to try. It is not one I would have ordered if I saw it on a site but it is still fun to try. Honestly, this is more honey than I was expecting which is good since it is the ingredient I like the most in this blend. The other flavors come through as well but more as a compliment to the sweet honey quality. It is nice but I think I am satisfied with just the one cup. Hopefully Cavocorax enjoys this one too.

I pulled this one out because i have no chamomile teas in my cupboard at the moment. I was also intrigued by the use of the world “honey” since i typically add honey to my sleepytime teas :) this smells like honey upon brewing it, and the first sips are distinctively chamomile and honey. I like that this is also green rooibos and not red. this was nice to try, though i think if it was a regular in my cupboard, i’d drink it with just a little lemon added to really get that honey, lemon flavour out of it :)
