Drank this on the weekend.. This tea was very strong and kind of sucked… didn’t really finish it but it was drinkable… I would not try again.

Flavors: Fig

Sipdown!

A decent tea. Kind of creamy and it reminds me of almonds. It has a sharp, clean taste at the end of the sip that reminds me of nuts.

A tea that smells and tastes just like its name, imagine that! The main flavor is cinnamon but it’s not overwhelming, the other ingredients are there in the background and they make a good blend. (Unfortunately I had a bit of a mishap with the loose tea, so it’s a slightly chewy cup, but still pretty good.)

This came as part of a “single steeps” sampler, but this packet actually was 1 serving, unlike the last “single.” I may eventually get a tin of this as my go-to for cinnamon tea, if it’s still on sale.

Flavors: Cinnamon, Sage

I love this mug! Hold the perfect amount of tea, and the strainer dips low into the cup so that the tea steeps evenly and quickly, and all the leaves are submerged.

The lid can be used as a saucer for the strainer once the tea is brewed, which is very ergonomic and elegant. Strainer, mug, and lid are all sturdy and easy to clean.

Perfect for work or for being lazy on weekends!

(Renaming this tea “Peppermint Honey”) Smells delicious – I think, ‘m congested right now – but I’m not sure what to do with it. After 3 min of brewing, just a slight fruity/sweet taste with an herb/grass aftertaste. Promising but still too bland. After 6+ min the peppermint took over.

Might become a pretty good tea if you have the time/effort to baby it. Or just relabel it as “Peppermint Honey” and you’re good to go.

(BTW I got this from a “single steep” sampler. Each envelope was supposed to hold exactly one portion of loose tea, but I could only put about half into my larger tea-ball.)

ADDENDUM: After reading other peoples’ reviews, it seems like nobody can find the figs!

Flavors: Herbs, Honey, Peppermint

This isn’t a bad tea — it has some nice spicy orange notes — but I prefer my black tea with fewer added flavors.

drank Caramel Nougat by Tea Forte

This came from the dark tea set I got from Tea Forte. I needed something dark as I just woke up from a nap ;)

I do get a faint caramel note here but it smells a lot like hazelnut. To me it just tastes overwhelmingly artificial like a bad dessert drink. It was improved a bit with soymilk but overall it’s not that good. I am just going to give up on Tea Forte as a company…. it’s entertaining to review new teas but not when they’re all yucky.

I almost bought that set the other day but chose the Garden Harvest (fruity white teas) sampler instead. Perhaps there’s a reason they were on sale. :(

I have to say Tea Forte is underwhelming!

I got their advent calendar. I enjoyed trying a new tea each day, but found only a couple I would drink again. This wasn’t one of them :(

drank African Solstice by Tea Forte

This is so unique. So smooth and creamy, even without milk. Because it’s rooibos, you can and should brew it longer than 3-5 minutes. Berries and vanilla is a very good description of the taste. It smells gorgeous out of the tin, and it’s divine with a bit of raw, unfiltered honey. This is one of my preferred teas.

drank Citrus Mint by Tea Forte

Sorry, this one isn’t for me. I generally do like sweeter teas, but I love a good mint with lemon as well. This just didn’t do it for me. Honestly, for what you pay, I could have gotten something that tasted exactly the same at Wal-mart for 1/3 of the price. This is not very good. Off tasting to me.

drank Swiss Apple by Tea Forte

I think this is my fave apple tea. I absolutely LOVE the spices in it. The cardamom and the clove is divine to me. This is my go to fall tea and the bonus is that it’s great for your skin!

drank Harvest Apple Spice by Tea Forte

This is fall in a cup. I like this with a lot of honey, really hot and in the morning. I don’t know why, but it’s also filling to me. I mostly get the apple, cinnamon, and rooibos (which I like) but the spice isn’t overwhelming to me. It’s definitely more dessert tasting to me.

drank Belgian Mint by Tea Forte

This is good. I feel it’s kind of weak, but if you brew long enough and add an extra teaspoon with honey, it’s a good sub for real chocolate. It feels kind of decadent.

drank Apricot Amaretto by Tea Forte

For Christmas, one of my not-tea people gave me a Tea Forte sampler box as a gift. I won’t say ‘no’ to tea and you can certainly do worse than Tea Forte. Three packages each of five individually wrapped servings. Really, I think this might have been two teaspoons in one “serving” but I used all of it anyway. This one is quite tasty. Plenty of apricot, something like marzipan flavor on a decent rooibos base. I expected worse!

drank Peach Brulée by Tea Forte
307 tasting notes

This was pretty sweet. After having oolongs for awhile, the sweetness in this made them seem downright savory (which they aren’t really). The peach isn’t really prominent though. There is a certain creaminess to it, which is where I suppose the brulee part comes in. I like it, but it’s definitely a dessert tea for me. I probably won’t be reaching for this tea often.

Nice. Nice. Enjoy the blueberry flavor. Reminds me of a fruitier version of an icewine tea. Also very enjoyable cold.

drank Chocolate Rose by Tea Forte
2816 tasting notes

This tea is definitely not a winner…. dry leaf smells so promising but the tea itself has no real chocolate flavor to speak of, too much rose and a weird artificial after taste. This was improved somewhat by the addition of soymilk but I might throw away my remaining samples unless any of my followers want them.

Bummer. I haven’t had any Tea Forte teas lately but I remember not being impressedwith their chocolate.

There aren’t too many chocolate teas I really like, but this was a bummer

Good lord that SMELL

Thankfully, the heavy rosemary smell didn’t translate to the taste, which was predominantly hibiscus with a hint of orange. Second steep got more rosemary. All in all, not impressed.

It takes a true “steepster” to be brutally honest sometimes and that’s exactly what you did here. Thanks for the honest review, it was quite refreshing.
