Always a dependable breakfast tea (even though it’s past noon already today). Steeped for 4 1/2 minutes, it’s got a strong, malty flavor and dark reddish-brown liqueur.

Sencha Yuzu to end the day. I’m such a sucker for lemony flavors.

Very smooth, tastes a little bit like pineapple.

One of the few so-called premium teas I can find here in Colorado Springs (at whole foods). Wonderfully nutty flavored, with no bitterness. One of my favorite all day teas.

I’ve had this for a little while now and it’s been pretty good. Mainly, I bought it because the packaging was cool. I wonder if its getting stale.
Does that happen even if i keep it in the tin that it came in?

Been drinking this from a local cafe for the last couple days- very date-y presentation, great with a bit of cream and honey. Not as near and dear as my straight malty Assam, but yum nonetheless.

I had a really hard time getting this tea to where I liked it. I finally settled on 1 tsp leaf to 8oz water. Water should be at 165F.

Exactly the same experience I had. Thankfully I found that balance on my second attempt. Now I love it [with a dab of honey].

I only have one problem with this tea: the design of the tin it comes in. It uses the same tin size and shape as Rishi’s loose-leaf tins, but the packed pu-erh cakes are much denser, meaning that I tend to misjudge the weight when I pick it up. I’ve dropped the tin twice, causing the wrapped cakes to scatter all over the floor.

Aside from that, it’s the best tasting pu-erh I’ve had so far.

I quickly rinsed out my pot of Golden Monkey from yesterday and brewed this in the morning. I think that extra slight touch of sweetness from the previous tea makes this great pu-erh even better.

Really great stuff! This is a very robust tea — it’s a good transition tea for coffee drinkers (though you have to be especially careful about not over-steeping). I typically do 4 minutes on this one.

light color and flavor. nutty and grassy notes are very subtle, which I really like about this tea. interested to see how the next couple of infusions go…

I am brewing this exact tea while typing this. Cooled the water down till around 75c or about 170F. The leaves are a bit smaller then I am used to with most silver needle. Let it brew for 2 min. Slightly a little dry, but still with that soothing sweet after taste. For the price it is not bad at all. I think the water for the Rishi variety could have been hotter, like 175-180.

Drank 2 days ago, very good. I would say 3rd best Yunnan I had. Rishi’s version is nice but the leaves are smaller for a typical golden Yunnan. Brewed 6g in a 20 oz pot for 1:25 sec. Brings a nice sweetness with that distinctive “tobacco” like aroma.
