Did not like at all. The Holy Basil herb was way too much for me. I have never had it so I can’t compare to others but for me this way overpowered the rest of the flavor. I didn’t even finish the tea any time I tried it. Tried it a couple of different times just to make sure it wasn’t my home water versus office water. I didn’t notice anything but the holy basil herb, the other flavors just disappeared for me.
Tulsi is just good stuff. It tastes very mild, but medicinal. It’s like a health tonic. I don’t know what specifically it helps with, but I feel healthier after I drink it. I’m hoping it will join forces with CS Ginger & Turmeric to chase away the remaining dregs of this nasty head cold.
This is my favorite tulsi blend so far. I’m nearly through the box. Rooibos and tulsi were a match made in heaven.
Oh, yum! I really worried that the cinnamon would overpower everything else in this blend, because tulsi is a mild flavor, and my experience with chai rooibos thus far has been less than stellar. I’ve also had the plain tulsi, the sweet rose, and I think the lemon ginger tulsi blends from this company, and didn’t truly love any of them. The plain tulsi was medicinal-tasting and boring, the rose kind was sickly sweet, and the lemon ginger was a little bland.
But this works really well. It’s earthy and spicy and smooth. You can sense just from sipping how full of good things it is. It’s rare that you find a medicinal blend that legitimately tastes good, especially if it’s bagged, but this one manages it.
10/10, would recommend.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Cloves, Earth, Ginger, Rooibos, Spices, Tulsi
This is an old sample—so old I forget who shared it with me. I was excited for this one, since I’ve enjoyed the blends I’ve tried from Organic India in the past and because I love mango. As it turns out, though, that’s the one note that I’m not getting from this blend. It’s mostly tulsi, which I like quite a bit, with the rooibos coming in as a fairly distant second—and it’s the good kind of rooibos, not the nasty tobacco-tasting stuff. I can detect the chamomile, but it’s not overwhelming. While I’m sure I’ll buy from Organic India again—I find tulsi makes for a nice caffeine-free option—I probably won’t go for this particular blend just because the mango flavoring seems not to add anything much to the experience.
I’ve discovered that rose tulsi is a killer combination. But mango, yeah, that sounds very very good indeed.
Herbal and Decaf TTB.
I’ve never had a Tulsi tea before, and after tasting this I really don’t think it’s for me. I found the smell off-putting, but I tried a couple of sips before dumping the rest. This is not an herb I particularly like. Nice to get a chance to try it without investing a lot of money into it, though. That’s what I really like about these boxes.
Preparation
Sorry, I didn’t keep the box. I’ve found that a google search is helpful for finding out what herbs help with various health conditions, and WebMD is good for finding out any potential side effects once you have the names of particular herbs.
I took this from a teabox a while ago and I thought I’d love it. Cinnamon rose tulsi! Sadly, the result is a little odd… probably because of the other ingredients that aren’t cinnamon, rose, or tulsi. I think just those three ingredients would have been amazing. But I’m not really tasting much cinnamon, rose OR tulsi…. just something that tastes like splenda and licorice. I’m not even sure splenda is in this. It’s a shame because I love their plain tulsi teabags.
This is a slightly bittersweet herbal (tulsi and rooibos blend) chai with strong notes of cinnamon and cloves. A tasty non-caffeinated alternative to a traditional chai, with the added calming benefits of the tulsi. I like mine with a splash of milk. The directions said one roughly 2 g bag per 8 oz of water, and I used two bags for 14 oz water. Directions said to steep for 5-10 minutes, so I chose 7. The tea is a little weak, so I would perhaps steep longer next time.
Flavors: Cardamom, Cinnamon, Cloves, Dark Bittersweet
Preparation
What a lovely tea! It is mellow, and I really couldn’t detect the rose, but it is very soothing and calming with just a subtle hint of sweetness. I bought this for the health benefits (particularly the metabolism boost and anti-anxiety properties), but this is actually quite enjoyable in its own right.
Preparation
I can’t seem to find this one anymore, which makes me sad. This is my favorite of the Organic India tulsi teas. A favorite for winter because of the blend of spices and the throat-soothing properties of the licorice.
Flavors: Anise, Cinnamon, Citrus, Clove, Herbaceous, Licorice, Medicinal, Mint
Preparation
I love tulsi for its nerve-balancing qualities and pleasantly neutral herbal flavor. Slightly minty, I like to doctor this up with the juice of half a lemon, a bit of ginger and a big blob of honey when I’m not feeling well.
Flavors: Floral, Grass, Herbaceous, Mint, Sweet
Preparation
Definitely unique. Intense rose flavor that seems even more rosy due to the sweetness of the stevia and the herbal-sweet quality of the tulsi. I love tulsi for it’s calming qualities and this is a nice treat before bedtime.
Flavors: Herbaceous, Mint, Rose, Sweet
Preparation
Honey, Chamomile, and just a hint of Tulsi make this a very unique herbal blend. It’s soothing and especially nice when you have a sore throat. I could see this being one of my go-to teas when I’m sick.

Peppermint tea has always been one of my favorite teas, but I thought this was an interesting twist on an old stand-by. Just underneath the bright peppermint flavor is the spicy Tulsi. It’s a great combination.

I saved this one for last because rose tea has always been my favorite, but it’s also the most fickle of flavors. If there is too much rose the tea becomes very cloying and difficult to drink. Unfortunately that’s the case with this blend, I’m really not a fan of this one.

I could sit there and smell this tea all day, it reminds me of summer with its faint scent of basil and peaches. It’s an interesting combination of sweet and tart that is slowly growing on me the more I drink it. I’m not really a fan of the hibiscus, but to be fair, I really hate hibiscus.

I’ve had Tulsi comprised of only one variety, but I prefer the blend of Rama, Vana, and Krishna Tulsi used in these bags. The brewed tea has a spicy scent, and tastes of lemon and herbs. It’s very refreshing when served hot, but I don’t care for it cold.

I really enjoyed the blend of Tulsi and Rooibos, but the mango flavor isn’t very strong. I think it gets overpowered by the rooibos. If you’re a fan of rooibos then blend might suit you perfectly.

I love this Tulsi. My only experience with it is in its bagged form.
I find this tisane is rather robust, and can be steeped 8 minutes or longer from 200F+ temperatures. I have not personally experienced a loss in flavor this way, but your YMMV.
Comforting, helps me with sleep issues, balances me out when I’m a little too stressed or a little too drowsy. I think everyone should try it and experience its unique properties.
The flavor has not come across to me as licorice-like or minty (as both of those are not flavors I really like or resonate with). Instead, it’s herbal and slightly sweet, to me, with a lovely warmth to it.
I’d like to get the loose leaf in a tin when I run out next, but I’m also curious about The Tao of Tea’s varieties.
Flavors: Herbs, Sweet
Preparation
I am dreading this cup of tea. The detox teas are not a favorite anyway, but I’ve actually had a taste of this one before. My husband had a cup of this the day we bought it so I tried it then. I’m not trying to be crude here, but I feel I should be honest.
Forgive me, but this tea tastes like hot vomit. It is the most bitter substance I have ever put in my mouth. Now, in its defense, the packaging does say that it will be bitter. Something about the kidneys liking bitter things. But I didn’t expect this.
The smell isn’t so bad. There is some mint in the aroma as well as something like echinacea maybe. I tried adding honey and it might have helped a little, but the taste is still awful. This is just going to have to go down in chugs. It reminds me of a really overwhelming grapefruit, maybe grapefruit peel. If I pretend it’s a grapefruit tea, I can almost bear it.
Almost.
