This tea is made with air-dried scotch spearmint (mentha x gracilis).
Has a very mild and soothing aroma and taste. I get plenty of earthy notes from this tea, and I would say that it has a slight sweetness as well if sipped slowly. Brought water to just under boiling. I wish that this were a loose tea.
Flavors: Sweet, Warm Grass
Preparation
This is much, much better with brown sugar than with white sugar. When I had it with white sugar, all I could taste was the peppermint, which was so strong it caused my throat to tighten and made swallowing difficult. But with the brown sugar (and brewed in a mug than I normally use) it turned into a very nice, tummy-soothing tea that also goes well with chocolates. It’s not the best mint blend tea I’ve had, but it’s the best for its price range.
Preparation
I just read about Russian tea and Russian Tea Culture in “The Story of Tea” by Mary & Robert J. Heiss. This tea tastes nothing like the descriptions I read. However, it is a mellow citrus-black tea with a hint of cinnamon. Don’t use milk.
I originally gave this a ratingof 41.
