16 Tasting Notes
I saw this tisane on sale at Whole Foods, and figured “why not”. To keep it short and sweet, this blend is perfectly average. The notes of rose and chamomile were quite pleasant, but the “sweet” notes I expected from the stevia were absent as was the flavor of tulsi itself.
Flavors: Floral, Rose

Tried this for the first time, was prepared by the Tim Horton employees. Someone needs to tell them not to use boiling water on green tea. Seriously. The water was extremely hot.
I was surprised how floral this tea smelled. That’s about the only compliment I can pay it. Overall it was musky and bitter, but it probably would have come out better if I had steeped it at home.
Flavors: Bitter, Floral, Musty

It is not everyday you encounter high mountain oolong at your local grocery store, so with that being said I took a tin of this tea home with me.
First I rinsed the rolled leaves twice to start the unfurling process, and then I brewed the leaves western style for about five minutes. The result was a golden colored brew with a pleasant vegetal aroma. This tea gave off a healthy balance of floral and grassy notes, but a big surprise came when I tasted pronounced mineral notes on the back end of sip, the likes of which I have not experienced with other Taiwanese oolongs. I am pleased with this addition to my tea pantry, and will likely be enjoying this tea many times over the coming weeks.
Flavors: Floral, Grass, Mineral, Vegetal

This one was surprising. I picked up a tin of this tea from the dented can store for $.99, since the tin was slightly (although not badly) dented, and I definitely scored.
I would not have expected this from a mass market consumer brand like Tazo, but this take on an earl grey was actually actually quite pleasing. The overall notes of orange, vanilla and cream create an almost dreamsicle like flavor without the sweetness. It is quite delicious. Admittedly, the flavors are somewhat unbalanced, the bergamot is a touch too strong and I was missing some of the boldness I would have expected from a brew with black tea as its base, but overall I was pleased.
This would probably make a nice tea latte, if I try it, you will be the first to know.

I received a sample sized pouch of this herbal tea a little while back, and decided to give it a try tonight. I would describe my experience as being overall disappointing. Despite steeping this blend in boiling water for 8 minutes, next to no pomegranate notes came through at all. It is called “Pomegranate Tea”, so I was obviously bummed out when there was no pomegranate taste to be found.
With that being said, this herbal tea has a lovely rose scented fragrance, and delicate floral notes with a bit of “spice” on the back end of the sip. Is it a total wash? No, but I am glad that I only have a sample sized pouch to work my way through.
Flavors: Floral, Rose, Spicy

How do I describe this herbal blend? It is hard to put into words, this brew is somewhat sour, but not in a displeasing way. There is something else there too…a slight fruity bitterness that hangs on my tongue after each sip. The color truly is amazing, a rich magenta as others have pointed out, but at the same time there is nothing in this herbal tea that leaves me yearning for more.
I think I will bring it to the office for my coworkers to try, it might go to waste sitting in my pantry.
Flavors: Fruity, Pleasantly Sour

Unequivocally speaking, this is one of the best herbal tea bags that I have ever tried. I followed the directions on the box preciously, poured boiling water over the bag and let steep for around 4 minutes and 30 seconds. The result was the a mindbogglingly full bodied chamomile flavor; the aroma was so overwhelming that my entire living room (where I enjoyed the tea) smelled like a field of flowers. The taste provides notes of sweetness, almost nectar like, and of course the rich chamomile flavor you would expect from chamomile tea.
I have tried hundreds of chamomile teas over the years, and this one ranks at the top. Even if you have tried chamomile tea before and did not care for it, give this one a try, it will blow your mind. Now if only they had a loose leaf tincture available…
Flavors: Floral, Nectar, Sweet

This is a very interesting “herbal tea”.
The tea can be brewed/steeped for up to 60 minutes, but I only did mine for 6 minutes per the instructions for a light brew on the package. My tasting notes reflect this.
This herbal tea has a slight phosphoric taste, but I do not say that negatively, it tastes somewhat buttery but with some distinct mineral notes. Perhaps what shocked me the most were the notes of green tea that I got from this, yes this does actually slightly resemble legitimate tea. Given that Mamaki is caffeine free, this makes the herbal tea a solid replacement for true tea when I am trying to limit caffeine intake.
Flavors: Butter, Sweet, Warm Grass
