This is a nice afternoon tea, that tastes like a sunny spring day in the flower garden. The taste is predominantly green tea and rose, with a lesser component of jasmine. The peppermint is too subtle to taste. I like to serve it with green tea cookies or shortbread.
Flavors: Bamboo, Flowers
Preparation
This is a fun tea for when you want an adventure for your palate or if you’re feeling chilled. You first taste the tea and smoke, but it is less smokey than a Lapsang, and it finishes with the sparks of a bit of chili pepper. I like to drink it with milk, which mellows the “spark”, and will sometimes sweeten it, sometimes not, depending on my mood and what I’m having with it.
Preparation
This is one of my favorite herbal teas, particularly during cold and flu season. I like to brew it very strong, actually boiling it for about 5 minutes, then sweeten it with honey. It’s like a “zinger” type of tea, but with less “zing” and a whole lot of ginger.
Flavors: Berries, Fruity, Ginger, Plum
Preparation
I’m a mushroomer, as well as a tea drinker, and I love this chai tea with candy cap mushrooms in it, which give it a maple flavor. It needs to be sweetened for the maple flavor to come out, and I generally drink it with milk and honey or sugar.
Flavors: Caramel, Cinnamon, Dates, Maple Syrup
Preparation
This is not my favorite tea; it tastes too much like Lipton to me. However, I have some very good friends who love it. Taste is subjective.
Flavors: Apricot, Autumn Leaf Pile, Caramel, Tannin
Preparation
This is a good basic chamomile-floral herbal tea with a little mint, but it is well balanced, so the mint blends in, and does not stand out. It contains a bit of stevia leaf, so those who dislike stevia may not like it, but the stevia is a small component, so the after-taste is not noticeable to me. I use it frequently as a tonic tea.
Flavors: Flowers
Preparation
Organic. This is a good green tea, slightly vegetal, smooth, maybe a little sweet, it would be good for someone that doesn’t usually like green teas. I usually don’t think green tea takes sugar very well, but this one does.
Preparation
Described on the bag as “a blend of the finest black teas from China and India.” I can definitely smell the Chinese tea characteristics in the bag. Brews up dark pretty quick. Has a good clean, classic tea taste. I made some iced tea with it and shared it with some other people…it was a hit.
