Lipton

I haven’t found a Lipton tea I really liked, but I picked this up in the grocery because it was the only brand of tea they carried. I have to say that when I tried this, I was pleasantly surprised. The sharp lemon flavor goes well with the punch of hibiscus – without being overpowering. No sweeteners needed.

My wife has an issue with caffine, so she trys to limit her intake. This is her concoction and its mmmm..good. Had this with dinner last night. 2 bags of Lipton Berry Green tea with 2 bags of generic decaf tea in a 1 Qt container, pour boiling water to fill the container and let steep at least 5 minutes (more the merrier generally). Pour over liberal amounts of ice for a glass of yummy berry iced tea.

Pleasant Smell. Fairly dark in color. Can taste the Chamomile, Citrus, and Licorice the most. I always find Chamomile teas all about average. This one is right in that boat. Maybe a tad better. It’s nice and calming. Thirst quenching, even

I drink this, with a dollop of honey and a slice of real lemon, whenever I start to get a sore throat. Call it psychology or whatever, but it makes me feel better and I swear it makes the sore throat go away faster!

This stuff is weak. It’s like club soda with a hint of strawberry and shame. I think I’d be better off getting a travel mug and carrying that around as opposed to abusing my senses by experimenting with bottled tea.

Ok, this was a rushed decision at 3 AM in the grocery store with the boys. I needed a plain black tea for making pitchers, and this was under $3. And somehow, when I read the words “black” and “pearl”, I thought this was going to be actual black pearls. Like tea rolled into little balls, like decent tea companies do. I didn’t read the package, okay?

But no, this is black tea that’s crushed but with little dust. Even after almost five minutes, it… kinda tastes like nothing. It’s, as one of my brothers called it, just brown water. It’s also kinda faintly bitter and astringent. It kinda smells like black tea?

Also, “long-leaf”? Is that something Lipton made up?

I don’t know how I feel about this. There’s some kind of odd aftertaste that I didn’t like. I dunno, it’s not awful, but it’s not a tea I’d persue.

Nom nom…last summer we lived off this stuff. It is so refreshing.

Yummy just yummy. No bitterness that usually comes with tea bags.

For a tea bag this stuff is pretty good.

Almost always make a cup of this to get me started in the morning. Had a second cup this afternoon to refresh me after a day at school.

I’m soooooo NOT diggin’ this one. Smells nice but it’s too bitter/sour/fruity/tart for me. Might be ok iced, maybe, MAYBE…dumping it out now…blah

Lipton’s tea is the quintessential iced tea.
