Nott bad for Lipton. Malty, earthy, relatively rich, relatively intense. Certainly better than regular Lipton.

Flavors: Earthy, Malty

Preparation
Boiling 5 min, 0 sec 2 g 10 OZ / 300 ML
gmathis

That’s one I hadn’t heard of. Lipton’s one-quality-notch-up varieties are usually OK, we just don’t see many of them here at our grocery outlets.

dreamloomer

This one may be only sold in Poland, because I can see that only Polish-language shops sell it. It is probably some other brand packaged under this name.

well, I sure was hatching something — COVID!
quickly made this in the kitchen (masked, of course) to bring to my bedroom; it’s not the best breakfast there is, but it beats getting my parents sick
this tea is not the worst thing out there, but it’s not really the best as well; I think not using boiling water was a good choice for this, as I can see the leaves burning easily

Preparation
200 °F / 93 °C 3 min, 0 sec

When you are feeling unwell, “just tea” sometimes is exactly what you need—especially if throat, smell, and taste are on the fritz. Hope you are better and back to the good stuff soon!

ashmanra

Oh dear! I hope it is a very mild case and passes quickly!

Get better soon! I hope you will avoid all the consequences as I did!

On my phone so this log will be lacking details!

The hotel we’re staying at offers us tea, so this was a godsend after 20km of walking in a single day (yay Louvre!)
We are sharing a cup with our feet up, after a nice Italian dinner and anticipating tomorrow’s activities

ashmanra

Woohoo! Yay for Paris and relaxation!

What can I say here? It’s just a casual tea from a big company, nothi9ng spectacular, but not bas for “sipping while working”. A bit malty, with decent depth.

Boiling 5 min, 0 sec 2 g 10 OZ / 300 ML

Used this guy to compose my Kombucha blend only. I don’t really like this one, although grassy, which is a good note, tastes too bitter for my taste.

Flavors: Bitter, Grass, Green, Green Wood

Used mostly for brewing Kombucha. Plain old Lipton black tea, if you like sweetened iced tea, this tea will make you happy.

Flavors: Smooth

Preparation

Applied to the PhD!
To celebrate both yesterday’s and today’s good things, I made the very wise decision of having double dessert — a fancy twix tasting yogurt thing, and an oreo petit gateau; both were really good!

now I’m going to drink a mug of this while enjoying a childhood favourite show, with my kitty on my lap and trying to focus on the good things

I’m already pretty tired (excitement does that to me), so this will also probably knock me out, meaning I won’t be stress-checking fogos.pt at crazy hours of the night

here’s to the good things!

gmathis

What is your favorite childhood show?

Sofia Vaz

I have a bunch, but the one I’m currently re-watching Cold Case; there’s something cozy about a show where, in every episode, the “bad guy” gets caught, and the plot is not too hard to follow either! perfect to shut off my brain :)
also, considering how I watched everything out of order as a kid, I can kind of pinpoint some character arcs, but now I get to have all the details IN THE CORRECT ORDER!! and whenever an episode I already know shows up, I can see it in a more “grown up” light
i.e., in the episode about the abortion group, I can now see how they took inspiration from the Jane Collective, and it was, in fact, a real organization, not just something the writers came up with
do not get me wrong, there is a lot Cold Case does wrong; but for a show based on a weekly murder, it taught my child self a lot about the past (or, at least, the American past, which is very different from the Portuguese — thanks, Salazar! burn in hell!!)

gmathis

Bad guy gets caught, plot not hard to follow … my preferences as well!

went for this tonight, as I have a “big deal” meeting tomorrow and need to sleep well
I say it’s a “big deal” because, in fact, it’s supposed to be a casual 5-10 min chat, however, my PhD application is semi resting on it; moreover, I have to ask someone for something?? and a superior, no less??? my (new!!) advisor and all colleagues have calmed me, saying that this kind of request is very normal and not a big deal at all, but I just can’t seem to be, well, normal about any of this

As a side note, there is only one bag left on the box, meaning we’ve made our way through at least three boxes of Calm Head (or, as they say on the Portuguese box, SOS Head, which is infinitely funnier)
Lipton, if you ever start selling tins of this, or bigger boxes, know that my family will be a major client!!

ashmanra

Hoping it all goes swimmingly and easy peasy for you! You’ve got this!

thank you RA !! <3

Calm Head! I think I need that by the truckload.

made this because I was craving something warm, but the calming effects might be good for me today as well — bf got COVID on our travels, and I tend to be very anxious when it comes to health stuff (especially when it comes to him)
I’m fine though! he’s had symptoms for some days and we were together for the entire time we were in Paris, so if I were to have gotten it with him, I’d already be showing signs

ashmanra

Wishing him a quick recovery!

We have a ittle coffee/tea bar in the lunch room where I work and this is one of the offerings.
You pretty much get what is advertised; peach and mango with a little sweetness. Not a terrible choice if you’re after something strictly herbal but I prefer my tropical teas somewhat more juicy and flavourful.

Flavors: Mango, Peach, Sweet

So I bought something from Poshmark and the seller included a couple of fragrance samples and a bag of this tea (very sweet of her.)
I had coffee before work this morning and now I’m home from work, sipping this tea. I didn’t have high hopes as I’m not a huge fan of black tea but if you drown anything in enough honey, it’s going to make it nice and sweet and take away that strong bitterness and some of the astringency and that is exactly what I did. LOL
With the honey and some almond milk, it was quite good. I wouldn’t have enjoyed it otherwise. Still has a slightly astringent aftertaste but it’s nothing that I can’t tolerate.

Flavors: Astringent

gmathis

It’s been a long time since I ventured into Lipton territory. I always thought their plain black loose leaf stripped your tongue a little less than the bagged variety.

Jason

I definitely had to kill it with honey! lol

This is a tea bag I picked up at a hotel in Kortrijk, Belgium a few months ago. I was quite impressed by the look of the Lipton tea bags nowadays, thinking that the tea might have improved as well, but there I was so wrong ;-)
The bag indicates “exclusive selection”, but I wonder what they consider “exclusive”. This is green tea without any flavour really, and any hotel that tries to guarantee a certain quality level should maybe ask a tea drinker for advice.

Straw-like nettle character and fairly natural mango make up a really nice, warming, pleasant aroma combination.
The taste is mainly nettle, with only a bit of mango showing through. It’s not bad but you can tell that this tea comes from a big company.

Aye, no. I don’t know what mum’s obsession with this tea is and why it’s most she drinks because… I actively dislike it. It tastes like rind. Don’t really have anything else to say about it.

I usually avoid this tea because of how I think it tastes weird, but when grandma makes you a cuppa…you drink it. Still think it tastes weird and I can’t put my finger on it. Here people claim this is “normal” tea and compare it to other “normal” tea which usually means Pickwick’s English Blend, but that one packs much more of a punch…

drank Green Tea with Citrus by Lipton

Do not be deceived: this is not green tea with citrus. This is weak lemonade. However, it’s not nastily artificially sweet, nor does it have enough citric acid to curl your tongue. And when it’s in triple digits and you’ve been doing VBS with a cluster of fourth graders , on ice, it’ll do. I brought the rest of the bottle home and halved it with some Brew La La strawberry green tea and it turned into a nice little fruit punch cooler.
