Forsman Tea

Gift from a friend. Black tea with choco taste. Not too sweet, goes great any time of the day. Could serve as replacement of a cup of coffee. Happy to buy again.

Thank you Jillian for including some of this in the box for me to try; melon tea is kind of the quintessential summer tea in my opinion, and it’s definitely not all that common to see cantaloupe tea over watermelon or honeydew so I had to try this!

I cold brewed the tea; I ended up not getting around to it yesterday so it definitely got a nice, long probably around 30 hour brew time? It tastes fine though: it’s actually quite refreshing and still actually fairly mild/light. The black base is definitely stronger than any of the added things: it’s floral, maybe a little malty? It has an ever so slight dryness to it; but not in an overly unpleasant way. I wish the cantaloupe was stronger but Jillian did warn me this was older and had lost a lot of flavour. As it stands, I mostly just taste it in the finish/aftertaste and while it’s melony I don’t think I’d call it a specifically cantaloupe flavour. What I do that that’s specific is a note at the end of the sip that reminds me of cool, crisp and slightly vegetal cucumber. Not sure what that’s from but it’s pleasant!

A nice, exotic-ish mate. I like the taste but I must say I wouldn’t mind it being a tad less artificial. My go-to morning drink at the office! Makes 2 brews easily; sometimes I make 3 but the third one is usually somewhat weaker.

It’s actually the only white tea I’ve tasted so far but I’m liking it a lot!

The taste is very mild as one might expect. I’d say delicate is the word! I love making a cup of this for the night. <3 The tea comes as little rolled balls and I brew 4-6 of those for one 250 ml cup.

I got a small sample when I was buying a christmas gift for my friend last weekend. It looks quite much like Lu shan yu wu -tea, leaves are really small and twisted and they’re dark green in colour. It has kinda seaweedy and champagne like aroma. Wet leaves show to me some whole buds and leaves but also there is some shredded leaf bits. This needs quick steepings since tea gets bitter easily. Maybe 60C-70C would be more suitable for this.
It has really strong flavour, that has little roasted nuts in it. Also it’s bit bitter, maybe it’s my fault or it’s supposed to be there. Go and know. I still like this soft mouthfeel, maybe next time I will make this better.

This thing is delicious, I have been drinking a lot of flavoured teas and bought some new from Forsman teas own store. It’s biggest tea shop in the Nordic countries, yay.
I bought couple loose leaf bags and this was one of them. I was thinkin for a long time do I buy this or not since I don’t really like cranberries, they are too sour. But luckily I bought it, this is soo good and not sour at all.
It’s a green and white tea blend flavoured with cranberry and vanilla oils also there is dried cranberries, it’s so sweet it almost tastes like strawberries. And everyone who has read my notes knows that I really like strawberry flavoured teas. This one has it’s place in my cupboard.

This is one of my favourites from Forsman. Really fruity tea that tastes like pear, there is not really teas own flavour but it won’t need it. Really fresh and juicy pear aroma and flavour.

I decided to review everything. This one is good as iced tea. It has little bit too much jasmine to me but quite enjoyable green tea, finished whole bag.

Yum yum, I have weakness towards strawberry teas. This has really fresh strawberry flavour, not that sweet and rich like ‘Sweet strawberry’ one. But this is excellent choice for hot summer days, really refreshing. Also this might be good as iced tea but I finished my package before I tried icing it, dang it. Maybe next summer.

It was a suprise that this didin’t taste like a toothpaste. The name means ‘cold sensitive’ or literally coldcat, so this tea is meant for rainy autumns like this one.
I kinda like the taste it is a bit sour and you can taste both eucalyptus and green tea. I personally would like a bit more eucalyptus flavour in this.

Puerh with green oolong, mate and natural lemon oil for those who wan’t to drink puerh for its healt benefits but are too scared to buy real stuff. Forsman promotes this more as health product to lower cholesterol and aiding in weightloss than tea.
Still it smells delicious (very lemony), I like lemony teas in general. Tea itself is very dark like it should be with greener oolong pieces.
Taste is mix between earth and lemon, it’s also bit watery(?), not rich like other black/puerh teas. I would like it have more lemon in it, but overall it’s pretty good flavoured tea not too sweet.

this is another from MissB and i’m happy to say that this is a really nice chocolate tea. I still prefer mousse au chocolat, because that’s a rich, decadent dark chocolate tea, but this is a really nice milk chocolate sort of tea. It’s not sweet, exactly but it is closer to being milk chocolate than dark. this doesn’t come across as artificial so that’s a win for me! thanks missb!

SSTTB: Pick #15

Last night’s bed time tea. I’ve almost finished trying the ones I’m interested in from The Box and will most definitely be ready to send it back out again by the weekend (if OMGsrsly is ready to receive it).

This one smells very interesting; definitely floral but also a lot like ripe fruit. It also has Lapacho in it; I’ve tried one Lapacho tea from the box and was kinda let down by it so I wasn’t sure if this would be the same sorta thing but I liked having the ability to try another Lapacho blend so soon after the first for comparison so i couldn’t pass up the chance to try this even though I felt it might have been like the Orange Cream Lapacho in that it smelled good but didn’t deliver.

Taste wise, there’s sort of a lot going on with this one. It’s super fragrant and smells really heavenly, and taste wise it’s definitely very floral. Like, it’s super closely treads that line between enough floral to be calming/relaxing and perfume/chemical/potpourri levels of floral. But it didn’t pass my “comfort level”. It could totally pass other people’s very easily, though.

In addition to the robust floral flavours there was also a strong presence of juicy, ripe fruits. Nothing too super specific but maybe leaning a little bit more towards stone fruits? There was no noticeable ginger, despite that being a listed ingredient. As always, I’m perfectly ok with an absence of ginger. There was also a natural “earthy” like flavour that was probably the Lapacho. It seemed very fresh and airy.

Overall I thought this one was very calming and soothing, and a really nice last cup for the evening. Taste wise it tread a very fine line but for me it really worked in the moment and I quite enjoyed the floral sweetness of it. I might take a few more cups worth out of the box; there’s a ton of it in there.

Ahh this tea smells very different compared to all the other rooibos teas I have. Not quite a woodsy rooibos scent, and definitely not a dessert cupcake and caramel scent. Just.. different? I can’t quite put my finger on it though. It has a sharp cherry medicine smell to it, but like the good kind! Like Robitussin… but I actually like Robitussin so this tea might actually taste really good for me haha.

Tastes… I can’t describe it? Slight cherry medicine, but not as strong. Slight notes of ginger and spice.
I don’t know what to make of this tea! I neither love it nor hate it. Thank you MissB for successfully finding a tea that confuses my tastebuds; this is a first! Hahah well I’m enjoying this tea at the moment. Sorta mindlessly drinking it as I watch the series premiere of The Night Shift which aired yesterday! Eoin Macken and Jill Flint though. I love them so much.

Never enjoyed mint in tea before – too much like toothpaste or gum? But this one doesn’t remind me of those at all. Still deciding whether I like this or not..

This is quite good chocolate tea. So many of them I have tried were artificial tasting, or not paired with a nice base tea…this one is good though! Not quite as good as Fauchon chocolate eclair, which is my favorite, but definitely one of the better ones I’ve had :)

This was an interesting one. Unfortunately, it totally hit me wrong. This just wasn’t my thing. Thank you for allowing me to try this one.

There’s a new Polish/Ukrainian deli sort of place that’s opened up by my house, and they carry a really odd yet large selection of tea. I grabbed a few the last time I was there, and two more yesterday. This is the first that I tried out of that batch.

This is a weird ass tea. I love the first few seconds of the sip – rich berry tea – and then the mint kicks in, and it’s repulsive. Like mint gone bad? It’s giving me an allergic reaction whatever it is, so I’m not drinking anymore (and… the berries are blackberries, not strawberries, I checked, so this should be fine).

EDIT: Blueberry, not blackberry, because I’m silly.

Another surprise sample from MissB: thank you! Dry this smells intensely of apricot or other stone fruit with some spicy herbal notes underneath. While it steeps there’s something…off about it. I’ve never had most of the things in here on their own, so I couldn’t say what it is, but the smell is off-putting.

Luckily the taste is more like the smell of the dry mix than the brewed tea. It’s a little fruity and a little herbal, and actually pretty robust for an herbal blend. I’ll have no trouble using this sample up.
