Dream About Tea

Shou Mei is an above average white tea with a bit of a nutty flavor. But, a pleasant afternoon tea. I may try a hotter, shorter steep next time.

Awesome on ice. Great way to start my morning. This stuff was MADE for cold brewing.

I prepared this as a cold-brewed iced tea, and it is really something else. Super refreshing.

I had this tea yesterday at work, my first day at Gold Fish Tea! A coworker said it was one of the shops most popular teas. I put 4 grams in a mug, added Oolong water, then waited 3 minutes for my first steep to darken up.

The appearance was very interesting. The picture on this article is accurate, however it also had some pure white dried ginsing root “coins” mingling with the tea.

I could really taste the Ginsing root. I have had the pleasure of growing useful herbs at home and one gets to know the “rooty” taste after a while. There are also a few pure Ginsing herbal teas out there that one might try. The tea has this aspect, but only SLIGHTLY. Not nearly enough to overpower the lightly oxidized oolong beneath. With any luck, some of the healthful benefits of the ginseng root are also being imparted into the already radiant cup.

Good news for Steepster! I have been commanded to drink at least one tea every time I work so that I can try them all. I will try to make a tasting note on each one to share the experience.

Nice, refined, soft Golden Monkey. Dark liquor, light cocoa notes.

This is a great spring/summer tea: Sweet, floral, yet also quite satisfying. Makes a killer iced tea, too.

A decent workhorse of a pu-erh. I like it in the morning.

Ending my Monday with a few cups of Hairy Crab Oolong…heeheehee…I suppose the name turns some people off, but it makes me giggle :) The tea: a finely crafted product with a delicate flavor. Yum!

I’ve been enjoying this all morning :) It’s a favorite. In my Sorapot, I can really see how BIG the leaves are when they open fully. They’re the biggest tea leaves I’ve ever seen.

Don’t let the name of this oolong scare you! It’s really good – light and slightly sweet, with just a hint of a fruit taste at the end. I bought it at a great little Denver neighborhood tea and bike shop – yes, I said tea and bike shop :) They repair bicycles and sell tea – what a concept! But really, it’s the tea that matters to me, and this is incredible!

Simple, sweet, Chinese green tea. Yum.
