It’s an interesting mash up…I wanted to use the last of the Prairie Berry sample from my pal indigobloom but had, in past, found it to be a little lacking and mild…so I decided to give it a boost by mixing the last of it in with some of the new Organic Berry Good. I used about a tsp of each, though the latter tea was low in pu erh leaf, IMHO.
An interesting mash up…I am definitely getting a tart and juicy feeling on my my tongue, but I am not sure which tea is contributing that. It could be the Saskatoon berries from the Prairie Berry or the hibiscus from the Organic Berry Good. At the same time, there is a smooth tone surrounding that.
I’m not sure I would make this mix again, as this was just a way to use up the Prairie Berry, but it certainly isn’t bad. I’m not sure the various berries merry together perfectly, t be honest, but there are tart elements of both, so they’re not too bad together.
I think the milk and sugar helped contribute to mellow it out a bit.
Needed something to lull me into sleep after roughly a day of consciousness and 6 hours of border-crossing Greyhound-taking stupidity.
Mother’s Little Helper, with its lovely Valerian content, is meant to help relax muscles and aid in the sleep cycle. The chamomile is meant to soothe. The Orange Blossom adds vanilla and a touch of sweetness to the overall flavour. Brews to a deep golden yellow. Tastes very strongly of orange and lemongrass, with hints of mint.
I might keep this blend in my cupboard after all.
Preparation
Started off my day with this yesterday…..yum yum yum. My local Davids needs to get all of their teas back in stock, darn it! I keep trying to buy a tin of green mate, but they’ve been out of it for ages. Sadface.
The mate added an earthy note that only enhanced the deliciousness of the Goji Pop. It was a very lovely day to start my day.
Okay, time for a more in-depth review. I fell in love with this tea yesterday. The green mate adds a touch of earthiness to the blend, which works beautifully well for the rooibos, my wife said it cuts some of the sweetness, which is a definite plus in her book. It’s the beauty of that creamy orangey Orange Blossom with the caffeine boost of mate. It’s just about perfect, in my books, and something I plan to stock up on ASAP. Maybe I’ll get a tin of straight OB, and then a tin of half OB and half mate….yum yum yum!
Mmmmmmmmmmmmm. I wanted to take tea to work today, and I wanted Orange Blossom desperately, but I also really need a tea with some boosting power on Saturdays, so I mixed these two….yum. Yum yum yum. I have a new love!
Preparation
So I mixed this one based on the recommendation of someone here on Steepster (I forget who, sorry!). Let me tell you, this sucker worked to help me sleep. I fell asleep waiting for my wife to refill the humidifier. Best sleep I’ve had in a long while…I think this might be one I keep around for those rough nights where I can’t sleep. I don’t quite remember how it tasted, but I remember it wasn’t amazing and it wasn’t horrible. shrugs
That is SOOO WEIRD – I just made this mix today as well (except I just randomly decided to do it), to help some mysterious stomach cramping. It made me really woozy and tired, but also helped my cramps :) every sip I took, I could feel my muscles relaxing. It also seemed to help with some of the muscles in my back, as I was experiencing upper back pain as well. It was pretty good, but still retained the bitterness from the MLH, and the fennel from the Vata. I would love to take it on a night when I can’t sleep.
interesting mix!! sounds like you had a sipdown :)
Yep! With the Prairie Berry at least. I have some Berry Good still.
