I was so happy that ATR sent me this as a sample because it’s one of the others I wanted to try!
I might have not brewed it correctly because it ended up too bitter and the melon is a bit too strong for me. I will try again before rating =)
2nd steep: So it was much more drinkable this time, but the melon flavor really isn’t doing it for me, I didn’t really enjoy it.
I only found Steepster a few weeks ago. It’s been such fun reading here and looking for the perfect tea. Now I’ve found the perfect tea, is the fun over?
I bought a sample, but it’s a good size, maybe 4 teaspoons. I brewed 1 tsp in 8 oz water. The first pot was the most delicious, starting as melted butter and ending as peaches and cream. I’m on my 5th steep and the flavour is mostly a memory, but there’s enough of a delicious hint of scrumptiouness to make me keep drinking this.
Thank you, Steepsterites, for leading me to this completely delicious tea.
Preparation
OMG! The added fruit bits are HUGE and this smell awesome! There is a LARGE Berry in my strainer…should I eat it!? LOL
This is a nice Sencha but the fruit really adds to everything and I’m so thankful for NO Hibiscus in this loose leaf mix! YUM! A nice fruity green! YUM!
Just got a bit of this from TeaEqualsBliss … thank you, oh, thank you …
2TB for 500mL water, lightly sweetened with stevia, no milk.
From the aroma, I expected a thin-bodied, faintly cocoa-tinged woody rooibos. Which can be just fine, so I happily set it steeping. For quite a while in a covered mug — hey, it’s rooibos, and I also had a cup of Assam brewed.
Instead, I’ve got a heaven-is-chocolate-scented silky, medium-bodied cup of bliss. Tastes a lot like a properly-made cocoa, but no powdery mouth-feel. So smooth, almost creamy, and I haven’t added milk. The vanilla is an inspired touch and smooths everything out.
I’m astonished at how good this is. No caffeine. No calories! A puntload of antioxidants! One of the tisanes, and one of the best cocoa-based drinks I’ve ever drunk. The rooibos itself is a tiny bit woody on the aftertaste, but then I did steep it for 15 minutes. Highly recommend.
Preparation
I’ve never had a Milk Oolong before but I think I’m hooked! It’s milky, creamy, smooth, ahhhhhhhh love it. I steeped it according to the instructions on the package, then steeped it 2 more times, each time adding an extra minute. It really does smell like rabbit candy!
Preparation
Not really loving this. I gave it pretty good reviews last time but I think it was because I under infused. I did a SIPDOWN with what I would normally do for a loose leaf what I liket o call a double shot…It’s quite tart. I’m not into tarty tisanes usually. I am lowering the rating. I don’t want to say it’s bad it’s just not really my thing. I wish there was less tart to it and more of the other things. I know there is a market for this so those people will enjoy it I am sure.
Dry this smells like Plum and Cinnamon and MAYBE a little licorice – but not much to the nose.
I just finished infusing this and when I saw the color I freaked because I assumed it had Hibiscus in it…BUT…it doesn’t! WOOT! Extra Points for that!!!!
This is quite smoother than I thought it would be. Which I am thankful for!
I can taste Plum and maybe the currants, too…they are very wine-like. The cinnamon isn’t an intense cinnamon type taste – I can smell it more than taste it…and the licorice is pretty much the same way…together they knock down the tartiness of the fruit and it works out VERY nice!!! This is very warming and comforting and fruity and fun but not overly tart and I like that. I think this would be good iced, too…but for now – I’m doing HOT Tea! This is a nice treat!
Well, this is very scented! Sort of smells like Chocolate Milk and Black Pepper.
The Post-Infused Tea looks a little murky at first but it settles. It’s chocolate-esque and the coconut is a nice touch. There are hints of peppery-goodness too. I would say it’s fairly velvety, sure!
This is pretty good! I was afraid at first because of the Pu-erh but it ended up being quite good.
I like the taste and aroma of licorice. I’m not a fanatic (I know some people who are, but I suspect I know more people who don’t like it) but it’s nice to have occasionally.
I’ve been impressed by American Tea Room in general. I have no affiliation with them, but they have teas that are most certainly on my list of “must haves”. I ordered a sample size of Cabochon and set it aside for a while. I was waiting for one of those days when the thoughts of licorice crept into my mind. Today, gray, gloomy, and wet, seemed like a perfect day for a strong flavor that pops.
And it did and it does! The anise is strongest in the aftertaste. The taste itself is warm and honied and the anise remains on the tongue and lingering around the nose. Cabochon would be a treasure for any licorice fanatics out there and would make a superb gift if you know any. For someone who enjoys licorice, as I do, it’s a nice hefty brew with a really tasty authentic flavor. I know that synthetic licorice can be simply dreadful. This is pure and true and I’ll invest in a larger package. Cabochon (which means a kind of treatment for a gemstone) is perfect for the upcoming chilly weather.
Wonderful if you love roses and if you don’t—maybe this tea will convert you. This is one of the best rose-immersion experiences I have had. I think it’s on a par with Rosy Earl Grey from Teas, Etc. The rose is not competing with an Earl Grey. Sometimes I really want the Earl Grey to be the backdrop for the rose but this is a more fragrant, floral tea. I guess I will have to keep both in stock!
