1598 Tasting Notes

I drank a cup of this today, but I darnk it while watching SPN fanvids and sorta wasn’t paying enough attention. I remember a black tea that was sweet and creamy? It was good?

Sorry I don’t have more. Now it’s Sil’s turn. (190)

And the distracting vids:
The Perks of Being a Winchester (funny summary of the brothers)

Castiel is an Angel With a shotgun (awesome video about BAMF!Castiel, but the music is a little cheezy)

I still like this one. If I’m in a Davids before the summer teas arrive I’ll probably grab another 30g.

Not sure what it is, but this does taste different than I remember it from last year…

Plunkybug

I like mine better now that I have added some black tea to it to fluff it up some. I found it a little too weak otherwise.

MooKiwi

I also noticed that it tasted a bit different this year…I don’t think they added anything to it or took anything out though.

So before I go to bed, and while I’m wating to see if TK will actually stay in bed or if she’s just gonna get up and bolt out of her room at mach 9, I like to stand by my tea cupboard and pick out a tea for tomorrow. Something nice that I’m not drinking for a sipdown, but because it’s a real treat that I love. It’s a nice calming ritual.

That is, until you forget what tea it is the very next day! I spent about half my bus commute trying to remember what tea I had brought with me and trying to visualize where I’d grabbed it from etc. No idea. But then I looked at it and saw the almond chips and KNEW, just KNEW it was Brioche.

What a treat. Yes, I love this tea. And I appreciate everyone who has sent me a sample of this one! Miss B, VariaTEA, Sil and possibly others?

ohfancythat

Yessss I still have a couple of samples of this to drink. I remember it being super tasty!

VariaTEA

You’re welcome!! I just bought 3.5 oz so I will have plenty more to share and I will be 10 minutes away so it will be super easy if you ever need a fix :P

Plunkybug

IT IS SOO GOOD!! I loved the samples I got.

I’m thankful that Sil shared some of this with me, but I think it was too subtle a flavour for me. It just tasted like sorta sweet milk? I guess it was creamy too. I liked it, but wish it had more pow! (And that was distinctive, so I think that means this one isn’t quite right for me). Still, that strikes this off the list and with x-blllion flavours of matcha out there, that’s helpful. :D

Sil

weird. this one was like zomg yummy for me hahaha

Ooooh, this is also a nice one. That shouldn’t surprise me, but it did? I think I brewed it earlier and didn’t have the correct temperature because I don’t remember it being THIS good. Mmm, roasty pecans and sweet sweet maple syrup….

ohfancythat

Mmmm the very first Butiki tea I fell for

Stephanie

Quick review before bed: It was ok warm. It was much better iced!

Oddly enough, this one is no longer for sale on the DAVIDsTEA website. At least it’s not there right now unless you get the Spring Collection.

Mmmm… maple agave nectar and milk in this = so good!
I’ve still got 3 oz of this left – I totally failed to drink this before winter ends…

I’m drinking this to commemorate today’s episode of Night Vale. It was quite excellent! The last two were really exceptional!

And if you’ve heard it, you’ll know why I chose this one. (minorest of spoiler;s but I squee’d!)

This tea, unlike it’s namesake, is surprisingly good. The grapefruit is mild and slightly tart, while the ginger helps bring the sour notes to the forefront. But it’s not TERRIBLY sour. I quite like it. And that’s too bad because I HATE Steve Carlsburg.
