1598 Tasting Notes
Phew. This one does not immediately go onto my re-order list which is a relief because I’ve already got Loki and Thor and haven’t tried the rest, and at 3 oz a tea, how many can one reasonably order just for oneself?
This is good, don’t get me wrong. It’s bold. It’s flashy and in your face, and… well that’s Tony? There might be the faintest sweetness in there, although I’m sure that would be aboslutely denied if directly pointed out… This just isn’t one I would crave very often.
Thank you Shmiracles! The rest of this is off to ozli! (181)
Wow. This smells so amazing. I’m not really a huge of jasmine, but I DO like spearmint and gunpowder tea, and these really, really blend well together. I’m even enjoying the jasmine in it.
OMG. So, so far I want to buy Thor and Loki teas. They’re in a ‘ship so I will save a little on them, but… what if I end up wanting to buy ALL the Avengers teas? I’m a little worried about continuing on…
SO GOOD.
This tea just screams “GREEN” to me and makes me think of Loki’s green eyes. Ok, I’ll have to send the rest to Ozli!
Thank you Shmiracles!
Maybe? That’d be cool, but WHO DO YOU EXCLUDE?
“Sorry Mr. Barton. You were… er.. not invited to this box set.”
“I like it. ANOTHER” ran through my head as I finished up my cup of Cecil, and with those thoughts in my brain, how can I NOT choose Thor?
I had to. It’s friggin Thor and he will not be refused.
Does anyone else find that Avengers fic reads like it’s very fast paced and the narration would leave you breathless if you read it aloud? Just a thought.
So, this tea:
I was surprised that the rec steep temp was 185, but who am I to argue with Cara about her blend? I will do what I’m told. Except I over steeped this..
But it’s ok! It tastes like dark rich mate with peach notes! And apricot! The mate is so roasty and rich that it really reminds me of coffee, but I expect that’s from steeping it twice as long as requested.
Thank you Shmiracles! My avengers tea tasting is off to a fantastic start!
ETA: Finishing my cup. Still loving every sip.
Preparation
This tastes good but I think part of that is because I just ate a blue whale candy and that’s adding a lot of sweetness to it
Ok, several sips later this is good but not mindblowingly amazing. Sorry Cecil. I love you, I truly do, but your tea does not speak to me as cleverly and beautifully as you do.
Poor, poor Cecil. Poor Night Vale. You guys – things are getting pretty intense! And dangerous.
I taste creamy lemongrass, and a little bit of ginger. I’m not even sure if lemongrass is in this, but that’s what I get.
Blue whale candy… OMG! I never knew about the existence of it until now… I am glad I don’t like candy anymore because otherwise I would seriously freak out! BLUE. WHALE. CANDY. A-DO-RA-BLE!
I had this last night and it was tasty, and I told a friend about it and asked if she’d like to try a cup, and she said she’s not sure she’s brave enough to taste their love juice and … well… seriously when you put it like that???? Yikes!
(Unless that’s your thing)
Hahah
Note that this tea is for: "For feeling stately, wearing top-hats, and building empires.”
Well, it’s Friday and I plan to be productive. Yep. Any minute now I’ll log off Steepster and be productive. Yep…
Sooon.
(This is better than that time I click on tumblr instead of twitter and lost an hour though)
This is a great tea. So smooth. Bold but not sour/astringent. I’m looking forward to this tin! Also, I should compare it with my Kenyan EG and Mount Grey from Andrews & Dunham. Yes… Eventually EG sipdown – this should happen.
See, I can be productive?
Interesting!
Random thoughts:
-I had to check the packaging 3 times to make sure this was not caffenated.
-It really reminds me of a roasty coffee
-It’s so thick and dark I can’t help but wonder if it’ll turn my teeth black. Not brown; black.
-It’s unique and interesting. It takes a little getting used to but I can see how this would be a nice alternative to rooibos and honeybush teas in the evening!
Thank you Sil for adding this in andd helping educate me on puerhs! (189)
The verdict? I like it! I gave it a short rinse, and steeped it for 2 minutes and the result is a nice earthy brew that pleasantly smooth and maybe even a little sweet? I’ll finish this cup, and try to resteep it later!
