94 Tasting Notes
I stupidly deleted my other tasting note for this tea. A quick recap – this tea makes me happy I can eat almonds and it’s absolutely perfect for a Netflix binge after work. Smell and taste are both comforting. Love this tea!!! Initially rated it 80 but with every cup I just love it more. 100 for sure. It’s so heavy, I use my steeper points to buy huge bags of it.
I only had a sip in-store, but another exhibit of how DavidsTea consistently screws up chai. Every chai I’ve had from them is frantic with the flavours fighting each other… The vanilla chai is the only one I could consistently drink. It looks like I’m in the minority on this pumpkin one though. I’ll stick to the incredible masala chai my parents buy from the grocery store.
I’m not a huge fan of jasmine but this is such a lovely, delicate tea that I can’t help but love it. It’s not too strong or floral, but it’s not too weak either. Just right!! I really appreciate that you aren’t hit over the head with the jasmine flavour like with some teas.
I have a peanut allergy, and I’ve had it for my whole life. HUGE props to DavidsTea for making a peanut tea with no peanuts!!!! That makes me feel very included and loved. :3 thanks, Davids!!
However, I really don’t know how to feel about this tea, because when I smell it my brain goes “peanuts! you must not drink this!!”
I overcame my fears and had a bit in store and liked the nutty taste, and I will probably pick up a bag at some point just because it’s a peanut thing I can actually have. I gave it a rating of 59 because while my taste buds kinda like it, it felt like I was doing something wrong when I drank it, due to the almost 25 years of staying away from peanuts like the plague. Having never eaten a peanut butter cup, I can’t attest to how much it tastes like an actual one.
EDIT: So I picked up a bag. It’s yummy but bland at the same time.
It smells exactly like peanut but cups but it doesn’t taste like it at all … Peanut butter cups don’t taste like apples!
