392 Tasting Notes
I really liked this tea. I think it is significantly better then it’s black tea counter-part and I like that tea!
It smells deliciously spicy dry, it smells a little funky when it is steeped but I’ll forgive it that. I love the flavor. It is so spicy and comforting. It is like a hug in a cup. It reminds me of something that I can’t put my finger on – maybe really good apple cider. Anyway this tea is awesome and I am looking forward to trying it iced (the pot is cooling in my fridge).
I made a pot of this tea this morning as a little treat before an 8 am exam. I added a bit of republic of teas chai spiced honey to the pot. It tastes really nice. This cup isn’t sweet really but it doesn’t have the sharpness of spices that I have experienced with this tea before. It is very smooth.
I made a pot of this last night, it is the first time I have ever made this tea in a pot. It is a little weaker then when I make it by the cup – I think that it is because the water wasn’t hot enough to start. It is still delicious though – oh and I am having it iced by the way. I think it holds up nicely and is refreshing. I am on my second cup now which is just as good as the first.
Also I just realized that I believe I am the only one that rated this tea and yet the average rating is an 80 – how does that work – haha.
So this was my first experience with flowering tea… overall I think it went pretty well minus some water spilling and some flower floaties in my tea.
My wonderful boyfriend just bought me this teapot set that came with 30 something servings of flowering tea (white tea with peach, green tea with jasmine and earl grey I believe). I just picked it up from the post office today so I was really excited to try it out!!!
The raw tea smells really yummy and peachy like a fresh juicy peach or maybe just peach rings candy but any way it smelled delicious. The wet leaves smelled kind of like sea water which was a little weird.
The first cup I had was almost clear after steeping for 5 minutes and it tasted like hot water with a faint peach taste. The second cup however was much stronger. It was a little more yellow and tasted more like white tea with a hint of peach.
For the second infusion I have a pot cooling in the fridge. I think that it will make an absolutely delicious iced tea and I could use some iced tea in this weather.
That is an awesome set. I almost got it myself, but I didn’t need the pot. Way to go wonderful boyfriend:)
It is. Have you tried any of the teas yet?
I actually didn’t have a teapot yet so this set was perfect for me!
And yes he knows how much I love tea and always gets me little tea presents – it’s awesome.
Whoops – sorry missed the “almost” there. I had never heard of this brand but I was pleasantly surprised.
