149 Tasting Notes
Another sample that I got with my Davids Tea order. I was really excited to try this, but was a bit disappointed by it. It’s like the taste isn’t quite fruity enough. IMO, it would is not tart enough and needs more hibiscus. I preferred Pink Flamingo to this one. Prepared with stevia.
I received this as a sample in my Davids Tea order. I’m really surprised I like this, I normally don’t like anything with lemongrass in it. It is very fruity tasting, but doesn’t just taste like warm fruit juice or jello. Very refreshing and interesting. Prepared with stevia.
First, let me express my intense dislike for all things Chai. Given the choice between drinking a good Chai or a crappy Lipton bagged tea made with pond water, I would choose the Lipton. But, something possessed me to try this tea. (It probably has a lot to do with the fact that it also has Chocolate and Cheesecake in the title.) When I tried this tea, I was shocked – it is actually really good! The taste is quite chocolaty. I can really taste the cheesecake flavor, especially at the end of the sip. The chai spices are pretty gentle, and remind me more of the spices in baked goods. This is truly an awesome chai, and that is a huge compliment coming from me. Prepared with stevia and a bit of half and half.
I’ll be honest, I was scared to try this tea. I love peanut butter, I love chocolate – but peanut butter in tea just seemed wrong. But it is actually very good. The chocolate flavor is fairly strong. The peanut butter adds some warmth and richness. A fabulous dessert tea. Prepared with almond milk and stevia.
I’ve had a rough few days, don’t feel well, and am in the process of getting snowed in. It seems like the perfect time to break out the PMS Blend. This is by far the creamiest, richest chocolate tea I’ve had. The black tea flavor comes across only in the aftertaste – the chocolate is clearly the main player in this blend. Very, very good. Prepared with almond milk and stevia.
I’m surprised at how strong this tea is. It’s not weak and watery like many flavored teas tend to be. I’m guessing part of the magic of this tea is due to the assam in the blend. This is a proper black tea that can stand up to lots of milk and sweetener. The result is an awesome, almost coffee-ish drink with great caramel flavor. I’m sad that I can’t get more of this, because I would drink it regularly. Thank you Rachel for the sample! Prepared with almond milk and stevia.
