564 Tasting Notes
Not all that thrilling, in my opinion. Tried it hot, and while it smelled and looked nice there wasn’t a whole lot of flavor. Delicate and a little bit sweet and otherwise indistinct. Not enough pear flavor to impress me.
I am chilling the rest of the box for use as iced tea right now, and I suspect it will be much better that way. In general I like white tea better cold.
UPDATE: This tea is much better iced! The flavor is subtle and cold suits it well.
Preparation
Smells like Christmas and tastes like spiced honey. I expected a much sharper cinnamon taste, but the tea was pleasantly smooth and sweet. I can’t imagine drinking this when it’s warm outside, but as a cold-weather tea it’s perfect.
My only complaint is that the cinnamon powder is escaping its sachets! Next time I’ll have to get loose leaves.
Preparation
I took a trip to England over the summer and fell in love with elderflower everything, so before I left I snatched up the only elderflower tea I could find—this one.
After a very short steep it’s already a little bitter, but the aftertaste is sweet and floral. I imagine this would be great iced.
Preparation
I tried this the other day while fighting a head cold and it cleaned my sinuses right out! It was more savory than I expected, and it almost reminded me of some soups I’ve had.
The dry leaves were very fragrant and the brewed tea was a beautiful gold color. The tea smelled better dry than brewed. Again, a little like soup! The taste made up for it, though.
Not something I would want every day, but when I want something a little spicy (or when I get sick again) I would get it again.
