My matcha latte experiments continue! I have had several plain and two flavored, caramel and almond. I prefer caramel as a hot drink, and almond is pretty unbelievable in a milkshake even if you put mostly milk and not a lot of ice cream! As a matcha latte they were good, but I was sure there was another flavor that was going to be perfect for this use.

Last night, the cartoon lightbulb went on over my head. Bavarian Cream! I was just sure it would be the super yummiest as a latte, and guess what? I was right!

I am ashamed to say that I finished my tiny jar of honey making so many lattes over the past three days. Hey, it was a TINY jar! So this time I used White Gold raw honey from Williams Sonoma. I bet I should have decreased the amount since it has the water spun out of it. I am assuming now that makes it more concentrated because this is really sweet, but I am loving it! I added about one cup cold water, sifted the matcha into it, added the honey, whooshed it with the aerolatte, added some crushed ice and about a cup of milk, and VOILA! A fantastic treat!

The Bavarian Cream flavor is so creamy and light in this, with a hint of lemon-y freshness. I think this is one of the best flavors for a latte of this sort. This is yet another flavor of Red Leaf matcha I do not want to run out of!

I am a music teacher, tutor, and former homeschool mom (25 years!) who started drinking loose leaf tea about fifteen years ago! My daughters and I have tea every day, and we are frequently joined by my students or friends for “tea time.” Now my hubby joins us, too. His tastes have evolved from Tetley with milk and sugar to mostly unadorned greens and oolongs.

We have learned so much history, geography, and culture in this journey.

My avatar is a mole in a teacup! Long story…
