433 Tasting Notes
I haven’t had this for years, but I had a Tazo coupon for a store that only had three blends so this was the best one available (ie: had caffeine in it). I guess I was expecting more flavour, but I also didn’t brew it for very long so that might be partly my fault. Overall, just very average… hopefully the next cup will be better!
Recovering from some kind of 24-hour stomach bug today and couldn’t find my normal go-to stomach tea (Tension Tamer from Celestial Seasonings). This is my first time drinking Yogi Tea and it’s not bad. I’m definitely not fan of licorice, so I was a little worried about this blend, but it’s okay. I am not really noticing that it’s helping my stomach yet but I’m sure it won’t hurt! Probably not anything I would drink if I weren’t feeling so crappy, though.
edit
Yeah, it definitely didn’t make my stomach feel better. Maybe it works better for tension rather than stomach bug recovery.
Preparation
This blend never disappoints. I steeped for quite a while (lost track, might’ve been 5-6 minutes) and it still isn’t even slightly bitter. Great flavour and scent—always a pleasure. Only a couple of bags left so it’s kind of a “special occasion” tea at this point!
Preparation
Was out and about at lunch and hadn’t had my daily tea yet, so I let myself have one of these today. Nice change from my daily hot tea, but I still think I prefer the hot version of this overall (it does seem spicier, even though I know they use the same concentrate for both drinks). Maybe I’m just wishing for slightly warmer weather. Either way, I really enjoyed it!
I always get mine blended. Against the laws of physics it actually seems more watery w/ the large chunks of ice. I just wish I could figure out a way for them to use bags instead of the concentrate for the iced version.
I am usually careful not to let it sit too long so the ice melts when I have the iced version. It only tastes watery to me if I take a long time to drink the whole thing!
Had this over the weekend on a rare visit to Caribou Coffee. It’s got some kind of coconut syrup in it, which made it almost too sweet for me, but the coconut flavour is awesome. If I had it again, I’d see what I could do to request that it was made with less syrup, and then it might be perfect. Pretty awesome!
Drank this today and finally brewed it long enough. Definitely a very strong pear flavour, with the ginger staying well in the background, but still noticable. I don’t think I have tried any other pear-flavoured teas so this blend is really nice for its uniqueness alone, but overall I think it’s my least favourite of the 5 I ordered from Remedy Tea Bar. It might be the ginger that keeps me from completely loving it. Still a very good cuppa, though!
Preparation
I forgot to bring tea from home today so this was the best choice out of the “left at work” pile I had to choose from. I wasn’t completely in the mood for it, but it turned out to make a nice cup for my afternoon. I always think this will be too sweet but there’s a deeper flavour (the caramel, and spices) that really keeps the vanilla in check. Very well-balanced!
Preparation
Pulled this out to drink today after not having it for a while. The fruit notes are very strong, and it’s quite different from any of the other blends I own. I think I mostly enjoy it for the uniqueness, though, and not really for the specific flavour of the blend. I never crave it but it’s nice whenever I remember to drink it!
Preparation
I didn’t oversteep this time (although it did tend toward the bitter side after a 5 min. brewing time), but I’m just not impressed with this tea. Not all that much to say about flavour… I’m not an expert in darjeeling teas, but this seems pretty average. I still don’t detect any muscatel note or anything else to distinguish this “champagne” blend from a regular darjeeling. Kind of mediocre, but I’ll probably finish what I’ve got of it (unless I get bored with it… we’ll see!).
