1118 Tasting Notes
Good morning. I decided I need a proper wake up today, so I reached for the Tiger. It’s robust and thick, and today it’s full of raisin and burnt sugar notes as well as malt. Super delicious. I added cream and sugar .
And now I’m going to take my daughter to school because she just missed the bus. Hello, Monday.
Last tea of the day. I tried to talk myself into having a different tea since I’ve already had this one today, but this tea, a good book, and my bed are exactly what I want right now. I don’t know if there’s anything more comforting than vanilla tea.
I received this from Carol Who in the Christmas Card swap. Thank you!
This is a different rooibos blend. There is a sweet fruity note followed by a good amount of cinnamon and then a tartness that makes my jaw tingle. It’s not bad, but it’s not my favorite either.
I had a cup of this during the party, and I have to say that it pairs very well with Christmas cookies. Especially homemade shortbread. Yum.
I have to admit that I am a bigger fan of the old version of this blend. This version is more minty/smokey where the old version had the mint/lemongrass/tea flavor that I liked so much. This version is also much heavier which wasn’t what I was looking for in this tea.
Hmm…you sure you have the new version? There’s no lapsang in the new one and the spearmint was halved.
I really wanted a vanilla tea, and it turns out that this is the only one I have in my cupboard, so decaf tea at 11 am it is. Regardless of the time of day, this is a great tea. Wonderful vanilla flavor, and a good base tea.

Backlogging from last night.
This is a sample from Angel and Teavivre. Thank you!
I can’t believe I don’t have a note for this one because I’m sure I had it before. It’s a beautiful tea both in appearance and taste. The dry leaves are bright green, uniform in size, and fairly flat. Once steeped they retain their beautiful color. Very pretty.
The taste is nutty and vegetal, and it feels silky smooth. As the tea cools the nutty flavor becomes stronger and has a very slight sweetness to it. It’s very nice and easily the best Long Jing I have ever tasted.
I have this & a few other teas from A&D in my desk drawer at work, & I enjoyed a cup of this one with my lunch. :) Happy Monday!
