85 Tasting Notes
I steeped this tea longer than recommend, actually lost track of time while being engrossed in the Olympics :-)
The tea had cooled some and when I took a sip, it had a vanilla flavor at first then the slight caramel flavor came through. I reheated it and added some sweetener to see if any other flavors would come through, it was still more vanilla than anything else. At least to my taste buds, it was.
Flavors: Caramel, Vanilla
I was very excited to try this tea, not only do I need every anti-stress thing available, I also really like licorice. This tea has a nice spicy smell to it dry. Once brewed it smells like cinnamon and cardamom, but it has a great licorice and fennel taste. If you like licorice, you should really like this tea. I only purchased a sample of this tea, but I can see restocking with a larger amount next time I order.
Flavors: Licorice
I steeped several cups of this and turned it into 32oz of tea. I put it in the refrigerator and let it get nice and cold. This tea is really good iced. I do prefer to drink iced coffee rather than hot, so that is probably why I like this tea iced. I did not add sugar or milk to this tea. I am sure it would taste fine that way and I might just try that in the future.
Flavors: Dark Bittersweet
I really like chai tea, but this one is not my favorite. It is called Ultra Spice and I think when they tried to achieve the Ultra part the company just added more ginger. That is really the only extra spice I get from this tea. I tried it before doctoring with milk and sugar, but it definitely needed the doctoring to be drinkable. I will try this tea again and see if I have anything else to add to this review.
I tried several sips of the tea before I added the German rock sugar, but it needed a little something. I added some of the rock sugar and it had a nice caramel flavor that the rock sugar definitely enhanced. I did end up liking it and that’s a good thing, since I bought a bunch when it was on sale.
Flavors: Caramel
I liked this tea. I know there are a lot of others who are not very fond of this tea, but if you like fruity teas you will probably like this tea. I tried it hot and I enjoyed the taste and as it cooled I think I liked it even more. Next time I get ahold of a bag of this, I will make it as an iced tea. It will be great during those hot summer months.
