I’m not having a good tasting day, I think. Everything is all muddled together when I drink it. I almost taste more matcha here than berry, despite having it before the exact same way and tasting the opposite previously. Frustrating.

Had this this morning. Encountered the bottom of the tin while scooping. Consuming this quicker than I thought.

This tea is okay. Nothing special. The taste is pleasant, but definitely not the best raspberry tea I’ve had. The dry smell is faintly creamy but it doesn’t seem to translate into the taste.

This is…really really minty. I can’t imagine what the robust or higher level of flavouring is like considering how minty this is. I’m using it as a palate cleanser before I go home from work but wow this is minty. Good thing I like mint most of the time. The coolness that lingers in my mouth after I take a sip reminds me of toothpaste it’s so strong.

Too sweet today, left a kind of sickly sweet taste in my mouth after finishing drinking. This was my first matcha love, but I’m becoming less enamoured with it as time goes on.

Pretty good. I taste the chocolate and the cherry about equally. A bit too much sweetener but that’s not the end of the world.

I just made a large order of this from RLT for the robust flavouring of this so I think I’ll drink this every day I’m at work (because it lives at work) until it’s gone. So expect tasting notes to that effect.

Slightly less sweet today, I think I put in a little less sugar than normal. I also forgot to swirl my cup before drinking the last swallows of this so I got a mouthful of matcha on the last swallow. Not entirely pleasant. For anyone reading this, Cola matcha still up for grabs on the swap thread from me.

So I didn’t get around to drinking this until it was lukewarm but that’s okay, that seems to be how I drink most of my tea. The flavouring in this is at a pleasant level, not too weak and not too strong and the base is…okay. Just there with not much going on. If you like passionfruit tea, you’ll probably like this, I find it just okay because passionfruit is not something I go out of my way to get under any circumstances.

So this is the third Yunnan black tea that I’ve had today and the only one that has tasted even remotely right. Smooth and slightly peppery with slight malty notes but not a lot. After experiencing more black teas (this was one of the first from Adagio I had, one of the first plain black loose leaf teas that I’d ever had), I’m finding it lighter than I previously thought it was. There’s still something not quite right with my tastebuds because something is coming across as sour, especially in the aftertaste, of everything I’ve consumed today, including the croissant I had earlier. Something’s wrong with my sense of smell too, the van I rode home in smelled of urine and if that had been at all correct, I think someone else would have mentioned it, so I think it was just me. Hopefully this will reset after I brush my teeth and go to bed tonight because I’ll be very unhappy if it lingers. And yay, my ‘y’ key is working again!

A black cherry matcha latte to end the work day. I’m not quite sure why, but the flavour seemed more muted today, whether that’s because of the actual matcha or because I was rushing to drink this before I had to leave I don’t know, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as usual.
