46 Tasting Notes
I have to say, this tastes EXACTLY like buttered cinnamon raisin toast. It is truly delicious. I can see now that we are going to have to reblend it. We have it out as our tea of the day today at our brick and mortar shop, Zoomdweebie’s and everyone is LOVING it. Best comment so far: "Gnarly! That really tastes like buttered cinnamon raisin toast! How did you do that?"

Some colorful language (our teas are THAT good)
The Formosan oolong is soft and buttery. The raisin and vanilla notes are just a beautiful touch. It kind of reminds me of nice cinnamon raisin toast except there’s no cinnamon (Maybe I should have included that). I don’t think you’ll find a raisin flavored tea anywhere else. Definitely not a raisin flavored oolong, and absolutely not an oolong of this caliber.
I’m glad my batch came out with a little extra for me. I have a feeling this one is going to sell really, really fast, and we are absolutely limiting this blend to these ten pouches (pardon me, it looks like we sold one, so make that NINE pouches).
This is a really special treat. I hope everyone who gets one enjoys it as much as I do.
I would say about a week in the US. We ship USPS First Class Mail. We try to get the orders out ASAP, but there are times when we lag a day or two behind. I’m always working on trying to make us more efficient.
I just tried this as a hot tea latte here at our shop. O M G! It was like pure liquid chocolate. The malt flavoring really amped up the chocolate. Our organic cacao nibs and natural dark chocolate flavoring can make our chocolate teas a tiny bit on the bitter side. A good, chocolatey bitter, like really dark chocolate, but a bit bitter nonetheless. But with the malted milk flavor (also all natural) added to it, the chocolate just comes to life.
I’m thinking of the chocolate river in the Willy Wonka movie and thinking it couldn’t taste much better than this tea with a little cream and sugar. Absolutely amazing!
I received some of this in a swap and loved it so much that I just ordered some for myself! Now there are only 2 packages left for sale! LOVE this stuff!
This tea is amazing. Just had a bit hot and then tried it iced too! I’m not a big Genmaicha fan, to be honest, but the sweet malt flavor really adds a new dimension to this tea. It’s positively delicious! One of my new favorites!
This is one of our bestsellers of all time. In our brick and mortar shop in Wichita, KS, we are constantly having to re-blend this tea. Mandy, one of our regular customers, once told me that she really thought we should rename the tea “Mandy’s crack”. After a moment of consideration, she decided maybe that wasn’t such an appetizing name.
I LOVE this as an iced tea. I’m normally all about the flavored teas, but this is such a nice, naturally sweet beverage, kind of like a nice Chinese green tea, except that it has a mild (and pleasing) lemony flavor to it.
Oh yeah. We use the red honeybush in several blends (Pina Colada Honeybush, Raspberry Cream Cheese Danish and the Pomegranate Honeybush).
Well, the green Honeybush seems to be citrusy. It’s almost downright lemony. The red is more like rooibos, but without the woody aftertaste. It is sweeter and smoother in my opinion. I actually prefer it to rooibos myself.
Green rooibos also has a kind of citrusy flavor to it, but not as pronounced as the green honeybush. We did a green rooibos with strawberry that was delicious (http://www.52teas.com/2009/02/26/strawberry-green-rooibos-experiment/).
That is REALLY bizarre! I just pasted the address http://www.52teas.com/2009/02/26/strawberry-green-rooibos-experiment/ here and it links to a different tea. Very strange.
i really gotta get on board with 52 Teas haha
so very excited to get this :)
just ordered some, thanks for the 1$ off code. Sounds just delightful! I twittered an idea for a new blend to ya just now…
