10 Tasting Notes
Just like the other reviewers are posting, this tea tastes just like buttered cinnamon raisin toast! I drink mine just plain and hot. My first cup was a little over-steeped, but the second cup was perfect. The cup itself is wonderfully aromatic, only making the experience better. I highly recommend this if you like flavored black teas!
Preparation
Well, I haven’t tried this blend from any company except The Republic of Tea, so I can’t compare it to similar blends. However, I love this tea in the morning! It’s got kick, it’s got deep flavor, and it’s got caffeine. I recently kicked my (too many cups of) coffee habit, and this tea is a nice substitute. I drink this tea in the morning, plain and nice and hot.
Preparation
Because this is such an unusual blend, I give it a pretty high rating. It definitely smells like bacon, and the folks around the office got a kick out of it. The brewed tea has a striking (and very thin) layer of grease from the bacon bits. The taste is interesting — maybe not my favorite tea overall, but a lot of fun to drink just because, well, it’s bacon!
This is a nice tea; the description suggests making iced tea, but I have only tried it hot. I typically don’t like fruity or flowery teas, but the blackberry flavor in this tea is smooth and subtle. It has a beautiful color, and I can taste and see why it would be good iced.
