Wow, it has been awhile. 3 months, hey? I think like a lot of the people I follow, I’m slowing down, and trying to be more thoughtful about the tea I keep and drink, instead of trying to have ALL THE TEA. I’ve even weeded out a lot of my teaware (just need to get the weeded into a box and dropped off at goodwill). It feels good to be simple. I do like to post pictures of my tea times on Instagram, and look at some of the folks I follow’s pictures of the same.

So, onto the tea. I’m actually logging a note because I am polishing off the bag. So I wanted one last mention of it before it leaves my cabinet here.

I quite enjoy LS, so I will get more for my cupboard, but I don’t know if it will order this or explore something else again. I will have to see what’s out there.

I actually didn’t have enough left to make a full pot, so I supplemented it with a couple of Dragon Pearls, which is a good match. It does dilute the smokiness, but they are both malty.

Last cup! I am going to miss this tea! I will definitely re-order once I go through some of my other teas and reduce the stash!

Made the last of this today. Had it hot as a latte in the morning, and made Lebanese Tea (iced tea with lemon and rosewater) for lunch. I will miss this!

Oh man. Forgot how much I like this tea. Brought it to work, and I am almost through the packet. Just enough for one more cup, I think. It takes a little more leaves to get a strong cup than most of my teas, so I underbrewed a little this morning. Still has a nice strong aroma. Must order more soon.

Finishing this sample packet off. Made an all right work tea. Nothing amazing.
I am not through the spice sampler. Need to find a new work tea!

Got this in a sampler pack, used as a work tea. Polishing it off today, and I don’t think I have reviewed it once. I can’t think of anything to say about it – it’s tea, and it functions ok as work tea, but it really doesn’t stand out.

Backlog. Apparently the difference in making matcha versus regular tea doesn’t trigger the “hey, I should log this” actions in my brain :D

I am perfectly happy with this matcha, it whisks up nicely. A little bit clumpy at times, but only when working in primitive conditions (ie work!).

I fall short on logging matcha as well. I’m not sure what it is…

Sipdown. I really need to learn to use fewer leaves. There wasn’t much left of this, and I decided to brew it anyway. It was enough. It made a decent cup of tea.

I definitely enjoyed this tea more this time around from the last time I had received a sample. But, I doubt I will purposely get it again.

Apparently I tried this tea 3 years ago, and didn’t like it much.
Opened up the new sample I have at work this morning and brewed a cup. I am liking it better this go-around. Mild and inoffensive, no bitterness, no alcohol undertone like I get with a lot of nut-flavored teas.

Will definitely try another cup tomorrow.

Not bad, but not great, won’t re-order. I think I have maybe one more cup in the sample pouch. OK work tea.

Bio

When I was a very young child, I swallowed an ice cube whole. It got stuck in my throat, and my mother had me drink hot tea to melt it away. That started a love affair with tea that has never abated.

I dabbled with Celestial Seasonings and other grocery store teabags for awhile, in my young and foolish days. But a few years ago, I received a tea of the month subscription from Adagio, and I found that there was a whole other world of tea out there that I had never experienced.

I love drinking tea, and I love the personal ceremony of making a glass or pot of tea for myself. It’s like a meditation.
