Oh yes….I am sure you are thinking, ‘Another review of Hot Cinnamon Spice from SimplyJenW…..’ Well, I do have something new to offer and I think it is interesting. So here it goes.
I was out of town for a few days. (Long story short, my nephew was born a few days earlier than expected so I had to go out of town to care for my niece for a few days…he is adorable and tiny, and she was lots of fun….) I packed my usual Hot Cinnamon Spice in filter bags for ease of prep while visiting… But it was not really that great of an idea…..
What resulted in putting the Hot Cinnamon Spice in a teabag…it was mostly just Cinnamon Spice. I guess the ‘hot’ could not escape the paper like it does my fine infuser basket. It was all right, but not nearly as good. The Herbal Hot Cinnamon was even more disappointing in a teabag. I won’t make that mistake again!

There is also a significant difference between this and the bagged version of this tea from Harney. The loose is so much better. I mean, it goes without saying that loose leaf is better than bagged, but it is really very apparent with the Harney teas … much more so than with other teas that I’ve tried.
I thought it was very interesting to see what happened when the loose was put in the bag…..I am pretty sure Harney uses the same tea loose and in their Hot Cinnamon Spice bags, but it explains the huge difference in taste….not all the spices can get out because the paper is too fine of a filter.

It is interesting that there is such a difference between the loose and bagged tea – I know that definitely holds true for Vanilla Comoro as well.
