Woo! So many good smells from this one. What hits me first is the sweetness of caramel, then bergamot and cream, followed by a little hint of citrus. This seriously smells so good, both dry and steeped.
The taste presents all of the same flavors, but the order changes up a bit, and I think the Bergamot shows itself a bit more. There’s also a toasty-ness that I really like, probably from the rooibos. There’s so many layers to this tea, and it’s like, you can taste each of the flavors distinctly, without one really overpowering the others, and yet they blend together and meld into smooth awesomeness. It’s been a while since I’ve found a tea I like as much as this one. There’s only a serving or two left of this one, and I think I’m keeping it. It’s a new fave.

Dry scent is of earth and dark chocolate, I see lots of little chocolate chips in here, it instantly reminds me of a less spiced version of Della Terra’s Chocolate Chai Pu-er. I wonder, if I added a bit of coconut, would I be able to make it taste at all like David’s Tea’s Coco Paradiso? Gah, I loved that tea so much, I miss it!
Not a lot of change in the smell of the wet leaf after it’s steeped here, except for the Pu smell being a bit more pronounced.
I was expecting a bitter edge to this one, but I’m not getting it, there’s barely any astringency, and if there’s a little bit at the end of a sip, it reminds me all the more of dark chocolate. I don’t taste any vanilla at first, but after I swallow, that’s what lingers most. There isn’t a lot of layers to this tea, as far as I can tell, but it’s a good quality, solid chocolate tea. It’s steady and reassuring. This would be an every-day, take to work sort of tea for me.

… Where’s the pumpkin? Lies! This s the first of the teas I received from the generous Ubacat! Looking at the ingredients, I wouldn:the be able to guess that they were aiming for a pumpkin tea at all. With that out of the way, the primary flavor here is by far melon. Makes sense since it’s one of the top ingredients. I don’t really get any creaminess when it’s hot, but I can detect a hint of it as it cools. It is slightly artificial, and reminds me a lot of those melon candies the I used to get when I was younger. Maybe a bit of other fruit and the rooibos in the background. I actually am enjoying this tea, and had it been marketed as a melon tea, my rating probably would have been higher. It’s tasty, I might just have to re label it.

Sipdown! I’m actually finishing the bit of this that I have. It smells great, lots of orange chocolate here. The primary taste is chocolate, with orange following up. I don’t get much depth to the pu erh here, though it’s earthy enough that I can tell what it is. It brews up very dark in color, and has a fair amount of astringency, though not enough to make me run and hide. Kinda reminds me of dark chocolate if I set my mind to it. Pretty good, and I’m glad I tried it, but probably not something I’ll keep on hand.

Going to have a big cup of this before I leave for work. More big chunks of ingredients in this one. It’s really light, too. Lots of Lemongrass and whole flowers!

I’ve never had Bluechai, so I was really surprised when it brewed up as blue as it did. I know it says blue, but I didn’t expect it to look like gatorade! I also added a couple drops of Lemon towards the end of my cup to watch it turn a very pleasing shade of purple. In terms of scent and taste, I’m really getting the bright, refreshing Lemongrass. Again, very fresh tasting. There’s definitely something else I’m tasting in the background, but I can’t pick out which ingredient it is, maybe a mix of them? I think I’m getting a hint of rose in the scent as it cools.

This is one I’ll definitely be serving to company in my clear pot. It’s just so unique! Not at all overpowering, but certainly enough flavor to keep me interested, so I’m not likely to get sick of it. I’m really liking this company so far, nice to know I’m drinking something that’s good for me.

I woke up to my Teatoxy package arriving today! I’m impressed with the presentation. Very pretty. The dry ingredients consist of mostly larger chunks which is nice to see, and my first indication speaking to quality. I get a mild minty and herbal scent out of the bag.

It steeps up a darker pinkish red, the rosehip, I’m guessing? The prominent flavor here is definitely hibiscus with some lemongrass. The mint is mild and mostly at the end of the sip and aftertaste, though it gets more noticeable as the tea cools, and seems to provide a counterbalance to keep the tartness in check. The rest of the flavors seem to meld nicely and support in the background. It tastes very clean and fresh to me, it makes me wish I liked hibiscus more, and it would probably be pretty good iced. I can believe the company’s claims of being careful about picking their ingredients. I’m getting a small bit of a drying sensation as I finish my cup, but nothing overwhelming, and no medicinal taste that I can detect.

Overall, I’m impressed with the quality so far. Crisp and clean, and I won’t have any problems drinking this in the mornings for the next while. I like!

I’ve been meaning to review this tea forever, but I’ve had such high hopes from the ingredients, I wanted to save it for a night when I could focus on it properly, so here it is! The first thing that hit me as I opened the bag was a delicious fruity scent, more citrus, followed by sweet nut. There were generous pieces of fruit and nut in my sample.

For some reason, as I took the steeper out of my cup, the wet leaf smelled more like grapefruit than anything else, is it just me?

The first sip was all orange flavor, tangy, with the almond and rooibos giving a nutty finish. Enough sweetness to make me want more, but not so much as to turn me off after a few sips. I would call it an overall “juicy” flavor, with nut coming in second, and maybe even a bit of cream in the end?

Overall, this is as good as I was expecting, and I just wish I had more!
