37 Tasting Notes
So, I had this for the first time the other day and hated it. I won’t bother going into all the reasons why again, but today I decided I’d try mixing it with some Forever Nuts.
I like it much better this way. Forever Nuts is definitely adding more flavor to the cup, but I can actually taste the Spiced Fig more today then I could the other day when I brewed it by itself. Its still not my favorite, but I think I’ll finish off the last little bit I have of it this way.
Preparation
My biggest problem with this tea is that it is heavy, so it gets expensive to buy a small amount. Then, because it is so heavy I can only afford to buy a small amount. So when I go to make this one it takes up a large portion of what I have, so it makes for a expensive cup of tea. The 25g that I bought only ended up making about three cups of tea. Normally though, I wouldn’t mind…. if there was any real taste to this. I steeped it for six minutes and it still tastes very mild and mostly like water that was mildly flavored. Even after I put more of this tea in my cup in an attempt to get a stronger flavor I barely noticed a change. All in all I definitely regret purchasing this one. Who knows though, maybe its just me.
Preparation
Oh no. Everyone had the same problem with this blend. It is expensive and tasteless no matter what you do. At least it is an easy sipdown so it is simple enough to drink up and move on.
I’m glad I’m not the only one! :) I think in going to try mixing it with something next time, Forever Nuts maybe…
My cold has come back with a vengeance, and since I have officially run out of my stash of Gail’s Organic Cold Remedy I’ve moved on to drinking this in my 16oz mug with some of their creamed lemon honey. And it is definitely doing the trick, my sinuses are clearing, my headache is going away, and it is nice and soothing on my poor throat. The best part though is that now I might actually be able to fall asleep. I’ll have to try this again when I’m not sick, to get a proper taste of this though.
Preparation
I hope you feel better soon. I have been drinking this lately to help with my cold. Creamed lemon honey sounds delicious btw. I really want to get to DAVIDs to try some out
Thanks guys! :) And VariaTEA Let me know what you think of it when you do get some! I’ve literally been putting it in everything, so good!
I was in the mood for some chai tea today so I pulled out my sample of this and decided to give it a go.
First sip: It definitely doesn’t scream chai to me, although I do like it. Its a mild chai, so its good if you’re not a huge chai fan. I can definitely taste the spiciness, and I find it quite refreshing.
After finishing: I ended up really enjoying this! Perfect for those nights when you just want a nice refreshing cup of tea to warm you up after a long day. Its not something I would drink every day, but it was better then I was expecting. It definitely reminded me of Splash, but spicy. So if you enjoy that then chances are you’ll enjoy this.
Preparation
So its 4am and I’m still awake and watching Pretty Little Liars. And in keeping with my guilty pleasure theme for the night I’ve moved on from drinking Read My Lips to drinking this one, another one of my old favorites. Luckily I had lots of caramel chunks in this cup, but I do find that when there isn’t I don’t care for it as much. All in all I like this tea, it isn’t anything special but it is perfect for laid back nights spent watching bad tv.
Preparation
Its one of those nights where I don’t feel like sleeping. I have a rare day off tomorrow where I don’t have any work or school work to do at all, no errands to run, and no family or friends to visit. So I decided to have myself a TV show marathon (Pretty Little Liar, my guilty pleasure) and a pot of tea. And since its a night of guilty pleasures I figured that Read My Lips was the only way to go.
I love this tea because the chocolate taste is there, its fairly strong without being overpowering, and I love the mint flavor combined with chocolate. Its the perfect sweet treat while I’m trying to stay away from actual sweet treats. I’m going to need to pick up more of this soon, I’m down to my last few spoonfuls.
Preparation
So its my first day back in the real world after being off sick for a few days, and half way through the day I needed a bit of a pick me up so I started drinking this. I’m not a huge fan of black tea -unless its flavored. So although it wasn’t my favorite it definitely did the trick and I managed to get through the rest of my shift… more or less.
I am glad you found a way to make it drinkable. I ended up just letting my roommate eat the blend because it was doing no good as a tea.
One of the employees kept pushing this on me one time I went. Glad I didn’t cave and buy it…I can’t stand herbals anyways.
Good choice on not getting it Kinsa, and me too VariaTEA. Letting your roommate eat it though, not a bad idea lol.
