2291 Tasting Notes
This is a really dark tea. Not bad today, but then, my taste buds have gone haywire. I can still taste the wood, though. Like that one hallway at work when it rains and the heaters are on.
It feels thick and a little slippery in my mouth.
Slowly increasing steep times. So far, 5s, 7s, 10s.
Preparation
Thank you for sharing, Sil!
The spices are perfect with the booze and honey I added. :D
All I can really smell/taste is cloves and a bit of cinnamon, though. Possibly due to the sick, but it’s hard to say. I think I prefer Esprit de Noel (black) from Mariage Freres.
Preparation
With honey. And booze.
So good. (Yes, at 9:30am. I am ridiculously sick. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.)
Preparation
Unknown Chinese green jasmine from Bear with Me.
It’s actually really really good. I’m having it with honey, because, well, I’m sick. The leaves are really lovely, but I totally neglected to take a picture.
Anyways, thanks so much! I don’t have much jasmine in my cupboard, so that was fun to drink today. :)
Preparation
I have this mixed with North Pole today.
So freaking sick IDEK.
So. Tea with some maple syrup. And soon a nap. I’ll need to go pick some things up later (meds, milk, easy food) so I need to rest up.
Is it still a disco nap if I have it at 10:30 am?
(Tea is not bad, but I can’t trust my taste buds.)
Preparation
I… think this is what I’m drinking right now. The wrapper looks right, but Oolong Owl has it and I’m pretty sure it said “2003”.
It’s pretty nice, actually. I’m steeping 6g in 120ml or so. The bitterness is present, but not strong. There is a certain sweetness to it. A little grassy floral taste.
4s/4s/10s, and I’m distracted making a coconut curry chicken thing. But I’m liking the tea! There’s a mild mineral aspect that makes me think this would be wonderful in a yixing, but I only have one and it’s seasoned for shou.
Preparation
Yeah, chicken thighs were a decent price at the grocery store. :D Never fear, I also totally bought dill pickle chips and some ice cream. Oh, and donuts. :D :D
You’re killing me with your food options. Coconut curry chicken, dill pickle chips? And ice cream? I could eat the shit out of all of that haha.
As my mouth is still full of peanut butter (I have a problem, k?) the nut flavour of this is kind of lost on me… but the banana is spot on.
Yum.
Thanks so much for sharing, Dexter! I’ll do another steep later and see how it is. But this tea + peanut butter = delicious.
Edit: Steep 2 is good as well. 6 minutes. Banana-y, although not super banana-y. Walnut skin nutty flavour. I think I preferred the Cherry Latte Oolong (??) but this is also tasty.
2.5 tsp in 16 oz for 4 min plus some milk.
