I compared this tea to one that I got from my Sensei in Urasenke Japanese Tea Ceremony. The dry leaves smelled like toasted rice and a little nutty. As soon as I brewed the tea, I checked the wet leaves, which were clearly broken sencha leaves, poffed rice (of course) and the leaves where irregular and fresh green. The aroma of the leaves was toasted rice, broccoli and cooked veggies and enjoyable. The liquor looked yellowish green and smelled like toasted rice, broccoli, nutty and a bit of lemon. The taste was umami and I found some notes of toasted rice, broccoli and nuts. This is a velvety, full body tea, very complex and with a medium length. Surely the kind of genmaicha I love (and to be honest, better than the one I got as a gift). Glad to have this one in my shop.
