30 Tasting Notes
I was a big fan of this one. I found that it had more almond flavor than Adagio’s almond black tea, which surprised me. Also, wonderful scent! It’s really good to combine with Adagio’s summer rose and vanilla, if you want to make a lovely dessert tea.
My fiance absolutely loves this tea, so it’s become a regular in our tea cupboard. It definitely has a unique flavor! It leaves an aftertaste of hazelnut, but while during drinking I felt like I mainly got the flavors from the strawberries and cocoa nibs. It actually kind of reminds me of some fruity breakfast cereals from when I was a kid.
Flavors: Cocoa, Hazelnut, Strawberry
This was one of the first teas in my tea cupboard years ago. I love jasmine blends, and that love started with this tea! I know it supposedly is a black and green blended tea, but I can’t really tell that it’s got black tea in it. Sadly, they’ve discontinued it. I went into a David’s Tea a while back, and not only did I discover this, but I managed to buy the last they had of it! So I apologize to anyone who came in after me and wanted one last tin of it. I’ll have to see how long I can make it last.
When I first tried a Lapsang Souchong, it was too smokey for me. Then gradually, after a while of mixing it with other teas, I got more used to it. Now it’s at the point where I can drink it by itself, and it’s even one of my regular morning teas! In terms of this Lapsang, it’s got wonderful flavor. I like my teas to have a heavier mouth feel, so I often blend this with just a little bit of Harney & Sons East Frisian, which I definitely recommend.
This is one of my regular morning teas. It’s a hearty tea that stands up extremely well to milk. I like a lot of milk in my morning brew, and this is the best tea I’ve found for handling it. Pouring the milk in, I was kind of amazed – it looked more like coffee than tea, which gives you an idea of how robust this tea is!
Yum! I love cinnamon, so I was a big fan of this. However, the flavor is very aggressive, and for people who don’t like that, try blending it with a vanilla tea. I blended it with a little bit of Adagio’s Vanilla tea, and that toned down the aggressiveness without compromising the delicious cinnamon. This could also potentially be AMAZING blended with an apple tea. I need to try that next!
I drank it without milk.
I was a little disappointed when I first tried this. My usual way of drinking tea is with milk, and in my first cup, the flavors just felt muddled and indistinct. I tried it without milk on my second cup, and while it was better, I didn’t really care that much for it. Then I forgot about it and it got cold. And wow, I’m glad I did! It actually tastes pretty good cold. So it went from disappointing to delicious, so long as I make it as an iced tea.
