Definitely tasting the berry in this tea. Tastes and looks like hibiscus is partly to blame for the bright red color of this tea, it’s slightly toned down from the actual darjeeling. I like the flavor, but may steep a minute less next time as to not have so much berry hibiscus going on. This was another tea sent from Brandy.

Thanks to Brandy, I got to try a bit of this tea. I made a cup hot to sample now, and made a pitcher iced mixed with some gunpowder green to sample tonight.

This tea smells like fruit juice!!! It brews up a crimson red and has a tart taste of tart juicy red fruit (the acai?), a bit of orange and a sweet mango aftertaste. I’m really loving the taste of this tea:) I hope I can find another tea similar. It’s sad that I’m only trying specialteas now and they are gone:(

drank Amaretto by Unknown

I wasn’t sure how to log this tea I received from Brandy, so I put it under custom. This tea is sinful. I added cream and sugar right away, I figured it would be a delicious treat made up this way at 11am. Wow, this tastes like an amaretto liquor. I could serve this after a fancy meal and wouldn’t need to liqours.

It is an awesome tea, isn’t it? I got it super cheap too – $4 for 4 ounces. Can’t beat a deal like that!

Meghann M

Wow that is a great price! Thanks for sharing some with me:)

Batrachoid

Is this Adagio? No, they don’t have real alcohol flavors, right?

brandy3392

This isn’t Adagio, it’s just a no-name tea I found at a local tea and coffee shop. If anybody wants any, I can always buy more and do a swap with you.

Finishing up the rest of the sample of this from my Secret Santa, Adham. I like how different this Earl Grey is from the norm. The jasmine in this blend really makes it stick out. I’m happy I had the opportunity to try this tea.

drank Lemon Cream by Sands Of Thyme

Thanks to my SweeTea Joe Cool, I received this tea and several other teas from Sands of Thyme. I love the addition of orange peel to the tea leaves, it looks great and I can taste the flavor in the tea. The green teas certainly make up one heck of a base, I can taste it through the lemongrass and yogurt flavor. I like the mix. I’m glad the base is strong enough to remind you it is there!

Thank you Ellen for sending a few sample bags of this tea. It smells so rich and peachy steeping. I can smell the warm ginger. Tasting the tea, I think I either steeped it to long, or am getting to much of a taste from the bag, or there is just something off with it. It smells so lovely, but it tastes a bit cardboardy. I steeped for 2 minutes, but thinking maybe I should only do one. I will hold off rating for now and just enjoy the scent a little longer before I dump the cup.

Another tea received in the swap with The DJBooth. This tea is a different mix than I’ve had before. I can certainly taste the anise, which I enjoy. There is a sweetness that must be from the honey, there are some spices in there, nice and sweet and spicy. Even a little woodsy. I definitely wouldn’t do this tea with cream, I think it would interfere with the lovely floral and woodsy notes going on here. I’m glad I got to try this tea!

Thanks goes to DJBooth for sharing some of this tea in a swap. It certainly is a rooibos in flavor, I get the woodsy, sour wood mixed with a tart juicy cherry. The cherry is definitely spot on in this one. I can finish this cup, but like most rooibos I probably wouldn’t buy this for myself. uld be a great c

drank Vanilla Comoro by Harney & Sons

Ahhh, a great tea to pair with dessert. So sweet and delicous.

ashmanra

I try to time it so I get the last cup of the pot made from loose leaf. That last cup has lots of vanilla bean bits and is soooo yummy!

Uniquity

I am so looking forward to trying some of this. In my imagination it is so good that I immediately buy myself a pound of it. Or a big tin of sachets. Or both! : )

drank Holiday Tea by Caribou Coffee

I really really believe Caribou uses Harney and Sons tea. They have so many similar blends, and even carry repackaged hot cinnamon spice. Anyhoo, this tea looks exactly like the sachet of Harney’s Holiday Spice and is just as disappointing. I used two sachets for 10 oz and just am not getting much flavor out of this.

QueenOfTarts

Yes, they do use H&S tea!

Live in the cornfields of IL, but not too far from the city. Expecting a baby any day now (due Oct 24 2011). Sticking to mainly herbal and low caffeine teas for now. Trying to encourage my husbands tea drinking, but he adds so much sweetner he may as well just drink diet pop. I love trying new teas, and will try any tea once.
