The dry leaf is earthy with malty overtones in aroma, and remarkably unbroken. Steeped for 4 minutes wasn’t quite enough, and I’ll probably increase the tea quantity from 1.5 to 2tsps for a cup of this size, but the flavours are everything you want in a breakfast tea – bold and well rounded, not at all floral, and that perfect sweet comfort spot between a kick and a hug that warms you all the way down, making you sigh involuntarily from relief – or is that just me??
