60 Tasting Notes
I am impatiently waiting to take a sip of this, it smells A-MA-ZING! It smelled pretty good when I opened the package, I could smell both strawberry and chocolate, but not in a fake-y way. After a 3 min steep I can honestly say this is one of the best smelling teas I have tried yet, and I am dying to taste it……….first sip was kind of a letdown, way weaker than I expected. Second sip, I am starting to taste more of the strawberry and I do like the flavor but the aftertaste is pretty bitter. I’m going to try adding Very Vanilla Silk next cup and see what that does.
Update: Sadly I have noticed a pattern of headaches after drinking this tea, either straight or mixed in with other teas. No more Valentines for me….
This chocolate tea smells really good when you open the bag, but I agree with my fellow Steepster, it is not a replacement for hot chocolate to be sure. I like it with Silk Very Vanilla soymilk, it enhances the chocolate flavor and sweetens without being syrupy. I would repurchase this if I don’t find a better chocolate tea first. Oh, and I wouldnt recommend smelling the steeped leaves, they smell like vomit. Seriously.
I’m desperately trying to taste this tea, but my allergies are getting in the way! Every once in a while I get a little hint of flavor and aroma and it seems like a yummy tea but I won’t be able to properly rate this until I can breathe!
I just picked this up at Target yesterday. I had two cups before bed last night and it did seem to help me fall asleep faster. It didn’t make me super drowsy or anything so I’ve decided to try a cup this afternoon just to relax. I really like the flavor as-is. Lemon is what stands out the most for me, but I can still taste and smell the rosesMy guess would be that if you don’t like Earl Grey you will not like this tea, as the flavors are pretty similar IMO.
