I had pretty high hopes for this tea. I love coconut, and I’ve heard great things about The Persimmon Tree. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a decent tea, but I wasn’t blown away. The coconut flavor was spot-on, nice and tropical and sweet, the white base was nice and light with a touch of floral notes, and the cream was… well, creamy. They didn’t work entirely cohesively for me though. Coconut + white tea = good. Coconut + cream = soft & delicious. But the cream with the white base was too heavy for me, and seemed to overpower the tea a bit. It was really a nice cup, but not as fantastic as I’d hoped. I think my expectations were pretty high, because this is tasty, especially as it cools. I kind of want to buy some for ice cream making… I could see this being so good when steeped in a custard base!
Interesting that you found it heavy…I found it much lighter then our loved bangkok!
