This is a very tasty tea with a lot of fermentation taste left. It was bittersweet in the first infusion, but began to lose it’s bitter character by the second infusion. The tea quickly got sweet tasting. This tea also happens to have one of the coolest wrappers, that dates back to when America and China were allies. It celebrates the American Volunteer Group or the Flying Tigers. King Tea states that this tea is also organic. It does taste good enough to be organic but I often wonder about sellers claims about their tea.
I steeped this tea ten times in a 120ml gaiwan with 9.6g leaf and boiling water. I gave it a 10 second rinse and a 10 minute rest. I steeped it for 5 sec, 5 sec, 7 sec, 10 sec, 15 sec, 20 sec, 25 sec, 30 sec, 45 sec, and 1 min. The tea itself was not done but I have had about a liter and a half of tea and have had enough. If I wanted to continue I’m sure I could get four or five more steeps out of it. And it does check out as real. It glowed green under the black light.
