From DAVIDsTEA

A sweet romance

We’re still searching for the secret to eternal bliss, but we’re pretty sure one cup of this blend will get you at least five minutes’ worth. It all starts with the very best leaves: a premium oolong from China’s Fujian Province called Huang Jin Gui. A popular wedding gift in China, Huang Jin Gui is prized for its pretty yellow colour and romantic floral scent. Here we bring out this special leaf’s orchid aroma with a touch of vanilla. The result? A perfectly balanced, subtle cup that’s equal parts rich, creamy and floral. Feeling blissful yet?

Ingredients: Huang Jin Gui Oolong from Anxi in Fujian Province, natural vanilla flavouring.

Now here’s a vanilla done right. I’ve gotten so used to artificial vanilla flavours that it’s a real treat to have something that tastes… real. This is light and creamy and sweet. And delightful. Very delightful.

Yum yum yum! I brewed this last night and forgot to log it. it was extremely enjoyable! At first sniff, the dry notes were creamy vanilla. Like a pastry. Definitely a foodie vanilla. I wasn’t sure if the scent would follow through after brewing but it surely didn’t disappoint.

I added a touch of vanilla almond milk and a little german rock sugar and it was capital T Tasty! Not too sweet, even with the added sweet stuff. Just perfect!

I had just gotten a cute little teapot for christmas (orange, with two matching cups!) and I decided I wanted to go out to DavidsTea and buy some loose leaf for me to drink at home.

After a while of sniffing I was stuck between this and the Pure Vanilla, and decided to go with this.

I brought this home and oh boy, it smelled DELICIOUS. It was something I hadn’t really smelled before, light and vanilla-y with a floral hint.

That was yesterday and I was saving my first cup for today, and I’m glad I did. It’s a great tea with a smooth vanilla flavour that anyone would like!

This is currently my go-to tea. When I’m heading out to class in the mornings I steep a thermos full of this tea and bring it with me. I keep meaning to try it with a little bit of sweetener, just to play around with the flavour a little, but I’m usually too busy drinking it right away to bother with sweeteners.

I think the other teas in my collection might start getting jealous if I don’t start spreading the love.

Very nice. Don’t over steep. Gets bitter

First brew was lovely. A nice vanilla touch to the oolong. On re-steep the vanilla faded and it was just a cup of oolong. It’s still yummy, and I actually think it’s probably one of my favourites from davidstea. (Milk oolong being right above this)

I really didn’t want to like this tea. I have a fair amount of Vanilla Oolong in a tin at home. I didn’t even want to look at it but I gave in and took a whiff when I was at my local DT. It was amazing. I had to try it. I couldn’t pinpoint the smell of it dry, which was extremely familiar, for the longest time. It smells like sponge toffy/crunchie chocolate bar (minus the chocolate). Brewed, it’s really good with the perfect balance of the vanilla and oolong tastes. Like someone else said, it has exactly what Vanilla Oolong is missing.

I believe this was the tea that was up for samples in-store…

It was wonderful as a cold drink, I think I’ll have to come back to find this tea again :D

From the moment I first smelled this tea I was hooked. Oolong teas in general are very smooth and adding vanilla makes for a perfect relaxing tea. Using Huang Jin Gui Oolong as the base of this tea adds a creamy note that just enhances the vanilla flavoring. After the first steep you loose most of the vanilla but its still an enjoyable cup nevertheless.
