This tea almost confuses me. Because I can’t decide if I like it or not! I drink a sip, and kind of hate the strong bitter chocolate taste (almost like if you’ve ever mixed cocoa powder in hot water without enough sweetener)..but then the mild raspberry taste hits and Im like hmm maybe its not so bad. And this repeats with every sip I taste. Its probably not going to be a favorite that I rebuy over and over, but I’ll probably use up what I have without too much dismay. I think chocolate/dessert tea lovers might enjoy this, but even then I would choose David’s chocolate orange over this as its just a much better blend of chocolate/fruit.

This is an all around great tea. I always find myself reaching for this one in the morning for a pick me up. It has a nice blend of almonds raspberries and chocolate, they do not overpower one another. This tea does not require any milk or sweeter, but im sure it would be amazing either way.

Sample packet from cooking gift box. Sipdown.
Dry – smells of cocoa, candied raspberry, artificial sweetness
Wet- smells of raspberry, savory, coffee-esque, almonds
Tastes of raspberry and almond with raspberry coming back to linger. It was an easy drinking tea. Still, I didn’t care much for the flavor profile I was getting and didn’t end up finishing the cup.

This is my current go-to tea at work. I’ve been trying not to drink caffeine at home, but it’s kind of necessary for 12 hour work days. I drank it in the summer and it tasted too rich and velvety, but now that it’s fall, it fits the season better.

When I need a pick me up in the morning, this is the tea to go. Because it is a maté, it contains a lot of cafeine (or mateine, whatever) and it succeeds in making me up! I also really like the taste : a combination of chocolate and rasberry. It it also a bit nutty because of the almonds it contains. I always keep a tin of it in my cupboard.

Very thankful for the Clearance Sale going on at DAVIDsTEA on their website. I was able to pick 250g of this up, for 30.00$. It was definitely a risk spending $30.00 for a tea I never tried, but I’ve always been a fan of chocolate-flavoured teas, so why not just yolo.

Today I tried it for the very first time and I have to say that I’m very satisfied with the purchase. Not going to lie, the chocolate is not the star, it’s more of a compliment to the notes of coffee cake and dark roast coffee beans. It’s very smooth, and imo, it’s very hard to find a maté tea that can achieve this feat. The after taste is amazing, it provides a hint of raspberry syrup, which adds overall sweetness to each sip.

I’m not sure if this one’s going to be discontinued as most sales on clearance at 40% off do become discontinued (and somehow end up finding their way back to the store). It would be a definite restock, but I don’t need any more seeing as I do have 250g of it. If you’re looking for a pick-me-up, and need to wake the f*** up from whatever it is you did the night before, this maté will be your best mate (see what I did there). :]

I was hoping this tea would be a suitable replacement for one of my favorites from DT, Fantasy Island. It’s good, but it’s not something that I enjoy cold/iced (a requirement for my “morning” teas).

This is a nice and drinkable tea. I’ve had it in a gift box for awhile and am drinking it today for the first time. It’s nice but not my favourite.
