105 Tasting Notes
To say this smells exactly like root beer is an understatement. I could smell this tea before I even opened the box it was shipped in. It is currently making my office smell like root beer. It took me a while to convince myself that it wouldn’t be weird to drink this hot, because hot root beer is kind of a strange thought. But I finally brewed it and it’s good. The smell of this tea is stronger than the taste which is a little bit disappointing. But it IS delicious. I can’t wait to make this iced.
Last of the teas from the chocolate try me pack.. Well, I guess there is one more, but I can’t drink it because of the peppermint. Gave it to my fiance who took it iced to work, so maybe I’ll have him review that one later.
Anyway, back to THIS tea. I taste the chocolate and the strawberry flavors ALMOST equally. To me the strawberry comes through a little bit stronger than the chocolate. There is a nice tartness to the strawberry flavor. But I wish both of these flavors were stronger.. especially the chocolate.
Hmm.. this has black tea in it? I don’t really taste it. I thought the green/black blend was really interesting, haven’t had many green/black blends. The apple flavor comes through nicely, but I don’t get a lot of chocolate taste. It’s there, but very subtle. It’s a good tea, but not something I plan on ordering more of.
The way this tea smells reminds me of hot chocolate. Like really good hot chocolate. I appreciate that the strong chocolate flavor of this tea really comes through as a DARK chocolate flavor… Because dark chocolate is superior to milk chocolate. Unsweetened, this tea tastes great, but add a pinch of sugar and it’s phenomenal.
I drink this tea all the time at work, especially on days like today when my allergies have me DRAINED and I need a nice pick me up. I haven’t reviewed it yet because I pretty much have no idea how to describe it. The interesting thing about this tea is I don’t really taste the earl grey, blackberry, or vanilla. Somehow they have swirled together to make a flavor that is quite bold, yet sweet enough that I can drink it without sugar or milk (which is pretty rare for me when it comes to black tea). And I normally don’t even like earl grey of any kind.. Overall, I wish there was something more exciting? about this, but it’s good.
I am mainly drinking this because I have a sore throat. AWESOME. It has a nice citrus flavor, but I think there is too much lemon. Would have liked the orange to be more noticeable.
Also I just ordered from Della Terra teas for the first time. I got the chocolate teas try me pack, since they seem to be sold out of s’mores otherwise, and that’s really all I wanted to try.
I was actually quite surprised about how good this was. Notes of vanilla come through strongly, but (sadly) the chocolate chips are less noticeable. Since this was a sample, I am probably going to get more of this next time I place an order.
