drank The Earl's Garden by DAVIDsTEA

I’m usually not a huge fan of earl greys because of the bergamot. From the bag, the tea smelled quiet nice, I got a light note of bergamot, but more fruity notes. When brewed it was ok. I could still smell a lot of fruity berries, but I couldn’t taste too much of the berries and there was a light bergamot taste. Definitely an ok tea, but it loses a bit of rating because I don,t like bergamot.

EDIT: I tried this tea again. Dry notes, this tea smells awesome, it comes out very sweet. I don’t notice any bergamot scent at all.

First steep: It comes out bitter and yucky unfortunately. That is probably why I didn’t like it the first time. You taste a lot of bitterness from the leaves and a little bergamot. As it cools though, the taste comes out more sweet.

Second steep: I absolutely love the second steep, I can no longer taste the bergamot and it’s lovely as a lighter black tea. As it cools, I got a really lovely sweet taste from the berries without the tartness, which is really nice.

Third steep: Still sweet, very little bitterness from the leaves! Love it as it cools.

I upped the rating by a lot just because the second and more steeps are amazing cooled. I would definitely serve this for the summer to my friends.

drank Chocolate Orange by DAVIDsTEA

Wow. This tea has impressive scent! In the bag it smells like Terry’s Chocolate Orange and when steeped, it smells like I am in a chocolate factory (I’ve been to one, so I know what it smells like!). This is a nice full bodied tea, the taste is ok, faint taste of oranges. I was a little disappointed with this part because I was expecting a bit of orange taste. Definitely not a huge loss because I love the smell of this tea :)

drank Guangzhou Milk Oolong by DAVIDsTEA

I am wondering why I haven’t written about this one yet—it’s absolutely amazing! I tried fake milk oolong thinking it was the real thing and boy was I so wrong. This tea definitely has a lighter, more delicate scent to it. After it has been steeped, you pick up the delicious cream aroma and you taste it too! I really love how smooth this tea goes down. I feel like I am drinking a latte! Why must you be so delicious and so expensive at the same time!

But you can get 4+ steeps out of it, IF you brew it at the right times and temps…

The smell of this tea is heavenly. I thought to myself that there was no way that this tea will be terrible. I was a little wrong. This tea wasn’t outright terrible, but very tart. It reminded me of bagged fruit herbal teas more than anything. This was disappointing for me because it was supposed to be a DAVIDsTEA, not supposed to taste like a tea bag.

But anyway, other than that, the flavours come out nicely when I add some agave. Especially when this cools down, it tastes much nicer which tells me that this is worth it as a tart, strong iced tea. I can just tell that people will love it!

I’m indifferent to this tea, I may give it one more go iced before I write this one off.

drank Cherry Potion by DAVIDsTEA

My bf first purchased this as an iced tea. I gave it a sip and thought nothing of it. I got a sample of this from Halloween. The scent is really lovely—something along the lines of a creamy cherry. The taste is also the same too! Upon first sip hot, I feel in love with the smooth, fruit creaminess of this tea. I waited for it to cool down a bit and I didn’t get the same effect. I’ll probably be purchasing in the near future :)

I realized what this tastes like! Like those strawberry campino candies :D

At first, I didn’t like mint—at all. I remember my first experience with peppermint tea in undergrad where the tea got all gross. That’s what made me get turned off by this tea, plus the fact that it had chocolate in it—I never went for those teas. I decided to try this again and was I wrong about peppermint and chocolate! They go really well in tea and I really like this one! Might I also add that mint chocolate is my favourite ice cream flavour?

Still on the fence if I want to purchase a tin of this. Maybe…hm…

This one grows on you. I now have a tin, and the first time I tried it I thought I wouldn’t finish the cup. Mmm!

I am sipping on this hot right now and to be honest, I could really mistaken this tea to be a herbal instead of an oolong. This is mainly due to the ingredients of mint and lemongrass with little to no taste of the oolong tea—however, oolong is supposed to be a lighter tea anyway.

The mint and lemon come through really well in this tea. I was hoping more of an oolong tea with a hint of mint and lemon. Not entirely disappointed, but not one I would purchase a tin of.

My boyfriend ordered this as an iced tea to go. When I tried it the first time, it tasted really tart and light. From reading other reviews, it seems like it’s best this way and I agree! Before when I tried it I was kinda like, ‘Hmmm…not sure about this one’. I picked up a small sample bag to try and WOW, the tartness makes this tea. I tried it hot and iced and I think the iced version is the way to go with a tiny bit of agave to lift a bit of the tartness away. This is definitely made to be a summer tea and I think I will purchase this when spring rolls around :)

The caramel apple (or apple pie) smell I get from this tea gave me the impression that this tea would have a nice fruity note to it. Upon first sip, I noticed something strange, strange like this taste does not belong and out of place. I sat there thinking to myself what it could be.

I looked into my teabag and saw that there was lemongrass inside! I kinda felt like this tea could’ve done without it because lemon grass doesn’t add a fruity taste to the tea, it makes the tea taste a little savoury.

I totally agree! The lemongrass is out of place in this one…

One of the few teas that I had to toss out after a few sips. I really could not stand the taste nor smell of this tea. First smell it is ok, I thought the taste would make up for it. Then trying out the rest of the tea….oh my. It tasted like alcohol to me (I personally hate the taste of alcohol). Nothing about this tea is good…which is a huge shame because I was kinda looking forward to liking every single DAVIDsTEA.
