New Tasting Notes

Prepared tea in a small glass pot. Black and gold leaves intertwined in a tight spiral, open up and produce a dark liquior with a spicy/sweet taste. Steamed 1 cup of Vanilla Soy Milk. Poured the tea into the milk and added honey. Goodness!

It’s called Key Lime, but all I can taste or smell is papaya and mango; not bad, simply disappointing. This is the first Teavana green rooibos I’ve had that seems to lack the freaky undertaste, though, so it’s got that going for it.

Very smooth, not bitter at all. Great tea for health and for when you want something totally different. One of my favorites!

super aromatic, prominent grassy, seaweedy (that’s a good thing) notes. Astringency kept me from total enjoyment. Got it at a cafe, so didn’t have control of the water temp- want to try this one at home.

Indeed. This + 7 minute steep + a teaspoon of agave nectar = just about perfect.

This tastes like melted mint ice cream. My partner loved it… I gagged.

This is OK hot but lovely iced. It is tangy and sweet and pure delight.

Good basic green – vegetal, but not overly so, and a little sweet. I should drink this more often.

This tea demonstrates how changing preparation methods can result in a dramatically different tea. Conventional steeping in a regular teapot will result in a light honey-like tea. But when prepared in a gaiwan, this tea really comes into its own with serious notes of jasmine, lavender, and clementine oranges.

This is my third morning in a row with this tea. I had to leave my desk during the 2nd steeping and it sat there for over 10 minutes, and it didn’t get overly bitter at all. I even got a 3rd steeping after that.

Old Dragon Well from floatingleaves.com. Still pretty good even though it’s over a year old. I got 4 decent steeps from it.

I love this tea, but it’s definitely not an everyday tea and probably not a good morning tea. Drinking this tea is like smoking a pipe with some delicious, smooth tobacco.

Surprisingly flavorful for a Celestial Seasonings tea. It’s smooth and spicy and tastes kind of like Christmas. It has “reindeer” food that supposedly packs it full of energy.

Don’t be afraid of this tea: Hotter water seems to work best, and brings out malty notes.
