Popular Tasting Notes
To my surprise I really like this tea. Chocolate teas are really hit or miss with me, but I’ve recently discovered that I’ve been drinking them wrong. Hot tea is something I rarely enjoy. I’m from the south, where it’s summer 8+ months a year. Iced tea is my jam. I don’t know why it never dawned on me that I should consider preparing them iced. I’ve been drinking this lovely blend of chocolate, coconut and pecan as an iced latte, and it is just delicious. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that I’d consider repurchasing it when I’ve finished my 50-gram bag. Add some coconut almond milk and a few drops of stevia drops (caramel or English toffee) and you’ve got yourself a relatively low-calorie indulgence that tastes like liquefied Samoa cookies. I’m down with that.
Not a huge fan of this. Both the peppermint and the black tea are strong . The tea looks muddy and clogged up my steeper :(
It tastes better as I keep drinking it but I don’t think I’d personally buy it again.

2nd time with this one!
This is keeping me company as I listen to a bunch of music today for my upcoming wedding. Did you know how many songs out there that are played at weddings? Days of music. Ugh.
Anyways.
10 sec rinse of about 6 g leaf with boiling water. Left it for about 10-15 minutes to take the dog out.
First steep, 5-7 sec. Light earthy taste with a mellow sweetness and creaminess. (Pretty good paired with all these love songs.)
Second steep, 10 sec. Much heavier on the cream. (With lots of violins.)
Third steep, 15 sec. Not very strong flavor at all. (Getting tired of listening to all this music…)
Fourth steep, I’m starting to lose track. My head’s full of music!
Shame this is going , as I only just found it and LOVED it. But I have 1.5kg in the freezer so I’m all set for a little while! Definitely melony, not too sweet. Great hot or iced. I can drink many cups of this in a day.
Preparation
My expectations were this: Lotsa matcha, notsomuch genmaicha. I was completely and totally wrong. It’s got a strong genmai flavor and only a hint of the matcha. I steeped this guy for so damn long, too—because I subconsciously ignored the timer—and it didn’t ruin it. Gotta like that.
Now, I don’t mind a fresh sprig or two thrown into a glass of iced tea, but dried mint is not for me. This tea was part of 2014 summer collection, and, since I’d purchased the boxed collection I thought I’d give it a try because I love melon-flavored teas. I was hoping that the mint wouldn’t overpower the melon, but, alas, for me, it did. I gifted this to my mother, and I will make it a point to avoid teas with mint – spearmint, peppermint, field mint, etc. – in future.

I bought a skinny tin and a tea door of this one at the summer SAS and just now got around to trying it. I’m sad I didn’t try this one earlier as I really like it. This tea has a nice smooth creamy vanilla flavour with a nice hint of citrus. It’s a light flavour. The leaves smell divine both dry and while steeping. If this comes back, I would definitely consider purchasing more. In the meantime, I will enjoy the 50 ish grams I have.
