Popular Tasting Notes
Dry leaves smell luscious—nutty with chocolate notes. Picking up a hint of anise which evokes aroma not unlike springerle cookies (German Christmas my grandmother used to make). Followed the steeping suggestions: tea smells wonderful and has a very delicate flavor. Taste of chocolate increases as tea cools; nutty aftertaste. This would be a good tea to serve to friends who haven’t tried or say they don’t like green tea. An afternoon comfort cup!
Preparation
I love this tea. Usually keep 3 bags in my purse to get me through a long day at work. Spicy, sweet, and with just the right amount of apple, I find this to be a staple in my cabinet. Alas, my local grocer stopped carrying it. Mixed it with meadowfoam honey to enhance the sweet apple.
Preparation
Well, I had to cut my way into another tin… I couldn’t get the lid to screw off. David’s – I LOVE these tins, but please make sure they work!
Smelling it in the tin, I was curious. I could smell the vanilla and I had high hopes! Buuuuut brewed… it smells like rot. Rotting wood or something. I’m so disappointed. I can’t stand it. I’ve taken a few sips, but I’ll be pouring the rest out. :(
This is my day #14 of the David’s Tea “24 Days of Tea” advent calendar.
Got this in my February Tea Sparrow box. Very excited about the pineapple and coconut although it doesn’t come through much. Definitely a nutty flavour and quite nice with no milk/sugar
Flavors: Almond, Walnut
Preparation
Received this as a sample in a recent order and was not expecting to fall in love. Made this in my gaiwan and got three delicious steeps out of it; easily could’ve gotten a few more had it not been dinner time (not exactly the beverage of choice for pairing with deep dish pizza!). Can’t say I noticed any difference between each cup, but that isn’t to say it’s a bad thing because it most definitely isn’t, not with its consistent notes of lemongrass and honey.
Definitely one I would keep in mind to order later as I need more to spend some quality time with. Could totally see this one being elevated to staple status.
Flavors: Citrus, Honey, Lemongrass
my favourite tea of the kusmi russian blends sampler so far although ive got troika to go. red currant, cherry, a bit of caramel. funny i was just thinking about the twinings four red fruit tea bags i had years ago, and it has the same currant and cherry flavours in it i remember from that one.
