So, when I visited Paris two years ago I loved tea. But that was nothing compared to where I’m at now. I knew very little and didn’t drink nearly as much as I do at this point. I picked this up in the airport as I’d been seeing those black tins everywhere. I liked breakfast teas, it was French, that was all there was to it.

I opened and drank a little of this when I got home and then, unfortunately, the tea was misplaced/forgotten about in a move. When I started wishing I had access to MF teas, I remembered it. What a waste, I thought! It’s pretty old at this point. And the tin has been open the entire time. I was going to try the tea anyway but I noticed a “best before” date stating I should drink it by the end of this year, which egged me on.

So I can’t really tell if this has been diminished by its poor storage conditions. But, it’s still quite nice and very drinkable. It is a lighter breakfast blend, but I find it still has a nice complexity and richness. There are sweet undertones that are really interesting and a little astringency to remind you it’s a breakfast tea.

Finishing off my sample of this. I think it is one of the two I am likely to purchase. It’s perfect when I want a sweet fix.

Almond milk, Pure Chai, stovetop. I know this is a black tea but I find its cinnamony comfort factor too tempting at bed time. It’s a strange tea, I think: a “traditional chai” without ginger or cardamom. Kind of powdery. Not particularly strong. But it’s a pleasant tea that makes me think of baked goods and I like it.

Very, very citrus-grapefruity! This came out a little tart for me, too. But, I wanted to avoid making it weak on my first try and did 7 minutes in boiling water. I will decrease the time and/or temp a little on the next try. I’ve been surprised at how flavourful the two herbal teas from the spring collection are. Unfortunately this one doesn’t go far, either!

The colour once brewed is really cool. So vibrant. And it’s making me want to try the suggested cocktail recipe. I am always looking for good sugar-free options to mix with, and this would be great.

So, I was making some tea to go with my Sunday comfort food, low-carb oat and coconut flour pancakes with a touch of pumpkin. I was about to add the water to the batter just as I poured my mug of tea, and then it struck me: creme brulee would be perfect in pancakes!

So, I had a delicious feast of Creme Brulee-infused healthy pancakes along with a mug of this. I should have had something with caffeine to get me going but this is nice for a lazy day.

Wow, this is delicious.

From the smell, I knew I was going to love this one. But it doesn’t disappoint (or leave me TRYING to like it!). The dry tea smells like a Tim Hortons toasted coconut doughnut to me, a treat I pretty much perpetually crave.

The black base is nice and rich. The coconut is delicious and really lingers in the aftertaste. The sweet, tart hint of raspberry is brilliant. And, man, does this smell incredible before and after steeping! I am getting a type of baked goods sense from this, probably from the coconut. I think this is one to let myself buy a full tin of!

Dry, the scent of the white chocolate comes through really strong. It definitely does have a confectionery vibe to it. When steeped, the fruitiness is coming through more.

Sippin’-wise, the citrus, creaminess, and green tea are all featured and nicely balanced. It’s reminding me of Elf Help a little, I think! With added creaminess. This is a nice, smooth, flavourful, fruity-but-not-sickly-sweet tea. I find DavidsTea is good at making fruity green teas that I don’t find sickening artificial or sweet tasting.

This tea received the honour of being the first member of the DavidsTea spring collection to be brewed in my Breville.

Of all the ridiculously intriguing scents going on in my trial baggies of the spring teas, this one does stand out. I brewed this up for 6 minutes as I was worried about it being weak, but it came out a little tart so it will be maybe 4 or 5 minutes next time. Even the tartness wasn’t bad, though. It works with the kick-in-the-pants-refreshing nature of this tea. This was deliciously bold and fruity and tasted like summer. It’s begging to be made into iced tea and/or popsicles, but was also nice hot.

My only qualm with this tisane is that as with most of the herbals you need to use a fair amount of it. It being a heavy tea, it’s on the expensive side. Definitely worth it as a treat to remind myself that warmer weather will eventually arrive!

I will also confess to chewing on a couple pieces of the dried fruit. Tasty!

lol!
I agree the scents of the spring collection are particularly intriguing, many smell like bags of candies… or something alike.

I’m making Dreamsicle now. I spent way too long sniffing the teas trying to figure out which to make next. I eventually had to look away and grab a bag at random!

That’s the first one I tried, earlier today! It’s yummy, but be careful not to oversteep it as it can get bitter at some point

I stopped by my local store yesterday to grab the spring collection as an end-of-week celebration. I’ve been wanting to try DT’s unflavoured oolongs, so got a cup of this to go. The dry leaf smelled quite pleasant, but when I was handed the cup with the little bag of steeping tea, I was surprised. I got this weird, seaweed-like smell! Perhaps I’m just not used to drinking oolongs with the leaves still kicking about.

Thankfully when I took a sip, it had nothing to do with what I was smelling. This was nice. Light, green, floral. I found it nicely refreshing after a long day of exam-writing on not enough sleep. I kept it steeping quite a while longer than I would normally as I got distracted browsing in other stores, but it didn’t seem to suffer for it or to get bitter. I’d consider picking some up to have on hand when I want a solid straight oolong.

Now this is a good coconut tea! And I like most any coconut tea. But this is really awesome.

The black tea is strong out of the gate, but there’s also a lot of creaminess. Towards the end of the sip, I get lovely toasted coconut flavour. I love the coconut shavings in the tea. It’s another I wish I could use as potpourri.

I might actually steep this longer next time. As tasty as it is, I think it could be stronger. Added to the shopping list.
