Almost done with the iced tea I made up of this. Really refreshing sliced with soda water, I’m surprised to realise I will actually miss it once it’s gone now! We’ve been through our ups and downs but we’ve made it through.

Ok, so Toasty Nougat is one for sharing with other teas. I discovered it goes well with the Art of Tea’s NUDI-TEA a couple of weeks ago, and thanks to some Instagram hashtag-trolling I tried it last night with some T2 Cocoa Loco (Orange—I don’t have my straight CL open yet) and a dash of vanilla soy.

Boosting the rating and recommending as a good additional scoop to enhance sweet, creamy and nutty notes in other teas.

Today, my first tea from my first Mr. Earl box! Well technically yesterday—I loaded up the timolino with some of this too before hitting the road for the day, but today I’ve got to sit down and get a proper taste for it.

The 85°C steeping note got my curiosity up, because this tea is literally just black leaves + other black leaves + some more black leaves. I did as I was told both yesterday and today but I think with the last scoop I’ve got I’m going to try at just off boiling. I’ll admit that I steeped for longer than advised both times, 3-4mins advertised and I went for around 4-6.

I’m getting lovely black with a touch of maltiness, but not the real grunt of boldness I was expecting from such a name.

A delightful sample from Scheherazade — three Doctor Who teas but I couldn’t resist slipping Molly Hooper in with them. What a fandom squish that was!

My Molly sample got me through two delicious cups this evening, chamomile very present but sweetened just nicely by the cherry. Simple and warm and tasty, a lovely evening treat.

Ah, I love oolongs. Thanks to ashleyelizabeth for a sample of this! This one is quite similar in taste to the berry oolong of T2’s that I so love. Just enough for one Timolino but thanks to the oolongness I’ll get a couple of steeps out of it at least!

Second steeping of yesterday’s leaves (left them in the timolino) because I will 95% of the time try for a resteep, hehe. Thankfully this is a brew that rewards me, same 70° temperature with a doubled steep time (roughly—I forgot to set my timer) brings out those lovely hay notes and still a hint of citrus too, amazingly. Maybe it’s all in my head? But I’m crushing.

Sipdown of this delightful blend. Perfect with a bit of sugar, SO Turkish delight.

I received a bag of this today with my first Monstrositea box… it wasn’t one of the tea samples, but it was a sample in an earlier box I missed out on (I only signed up in time for box #3 onward) and it just sounded so GOOD I had to have it.

I was worried that I’d overhyped it, but I diligently stuck to steeping rules and it’s come out absolutely lovely. Delicate and strangely almost savoury but still sweet and a little like delicious hay. This is a beautiful brew.
