This tea is great! however not a staple for me. It’s very sweet but asides from the almond flavour, does not carry much else. It’s pretty much a cup of liquid, almond cookie… which in my opinion, is a rather simple flavour. That said, when I’m craving that something sweet, it really hits the spot. I prefer it with some milk, and a touch of sugar to enhance the almond. It smells yummy as well of course!
This is a great all around tea for me. I enjoy that the rooibos isn’t entirely overshadowed by the earl grey. It has a lot of depth as well, which I enjoy. Intense, complex teas are my thing. You’ll rarely see me with a cup of any “pure” tea.
Also, at one time, when bagged earl grey was all I had tried, I could not stand the stuff! then a friend gifted me (not teaopia, it had no brand name on it so I can’t be sure where it’s from. Someplace in Calgary I think) some looseleaf and it changed my life. In fact this is what got me hooked! So pardon my bias on this one, it’s the tea that started everything looseleaf for me.
I’ve tried regular earl grey since, but it just does not work for me somehow. Sorry this review isn’t more helpful!
I wasn’t sure about this tea when I bought it… but my instincts said yes so I did! and oh boy am I ever glad I listened!! the cinnamon really comes through, though I really can’t taste much of the orange note. It’s like a pocket of cinnamon burst in my mouth…. good with or without milk, and just a pinch of sugar. I find that sugar, in this case, brings out the flavour a tad more. Oh, and it’s great for digestion. healthy and tasty in one mug? my kind of tea
I am a big fan of coconut, and find that though I don’t have a favourite tea base, I often find varieties in the oolong family that make tickle my tastebuds. So… naturally, I LOVE this tea! the coconut flavour really comes through and the oolong notes balance it out nicely. It goes exceptionally well with milk as well. No sugar required, it’s naturally sweet on it’s own- another big plus :)
